First off, I'm not a high level techno-geek. More of a closet geek..I know enough to get myself into trouble and then just brute force my way through many days of troubleshooting to solve my issues. That said, I'm running a ATI 9800 Pro 128mb and I have not updated my drivers in quite some time (probably October...dunno). The only reason I upgraded to 4.8.442 was that my H/D crashed. After the h/d install everything was running fine. Then I tried booting up CoH and received a message that my current drivers were crap...oops...time to dl the new Omegas.

Well, I installed 4.8.442 and now things don't run so good. First off, in the CP, the drivers that is listed as current is 3.8.442. I imagine this is a typo in the code somewhere, but anyway. The real bugger is that everything is extremely slow in writing. Drop down menus scroll so slow I can watch each line of pixels as they are written. IE takes a long time to boot up when just prior to installing the Omegas it ran slicker than shit. All programs run slow now...what gives?

Any ideas? I've been running Omega drivers for many years and find they always run great. This one's a mystery to me.
