X1950 Pro render problems

Hi,

HAve a game-specific issue that can't be resolved on the game's support forum so wondered if anyone has any ideas what it could be.

I'm getting game crashes and renderer invalid burst mode messages about d3d8.dll that cause black screens and crashes. Sounds as if the graphics card resets itself as the fan fires up then slows down when this happens.

Have tried latest ATi drivers and also now latest omega drivers. Works for random amounts of time before crashing so nothing specific causes it. All other games have no issues running (CoH, Civ, Paradox games etc). Even had to rebuil windows xp recently so it's a pretty clean install.

Just coming here out of desperation really!

Cheers
