question about problem i had uninstalling 8.3 cats
I wanted to see if there was an improvement in crysis with the 8.3 cats so I uninstalled omega drivers from add/remove programs, rebooted installed the 8.3 display driver. After playing around in crysis I uninstalled the omega setup files and was going to uninstall the 8.3 driver but I got this error. I tried installing the 8.3 driver again then uninstalling but I got the same error, also tried the uninstall utility same thing. So I used driver cleaner with the ati filter- rebooted and didnt get the found new hardware wizard... I rebooted into safe mode used driver cleaner again.. booted normally and still didnt get the found new hardware wizard. I installed the 8.3 cats again and tried to uninstall but I got the same error. I went through the process again and kept having the same problem... also after I reinstalled CCC it would just error and want to submit an error report if I right clicked on the desktop or tried to get into CCC. I ended up uninstalling, using driver cleaner and installing omega drivers again.
If I want to try cats again in the future I'm sure I'll run into this problem again, is there any way I can fix it? I probably screwed up by uninstalling the omega setup files or not using driver cleaner in the first place or a mix of both. also would there be any conflicting issues cause driver cleaner definately didnt remove everything since the new hardware wizard didnt show up? I have xp pro sp2, hd3870  |

At first, uninstall "ATI tool", which hooks into the ATI libraries.
If driver cleaner fails again, run the "ATI software uninstall utility" C:\Program Files\ATI Technologies\UninstallAll\AtiCimUn.exe |

hmm I'm updating my drivers to 8.4 and I got the error again, I don't have atitool and I just uninstalled ati tray tools. when i boot up right click on desktop or try to get into display properties.
