Vice City IQ on Radeons = Bad

Vice City, and GTAIII before that had REALLY BAD refresh timings for the dynamic texturing of the buildings, making it take forever to show the actual good model. It isn't the game, as I heard nvidia cards don't have the bad timings. Is there a driver that has this fixed?

digitalwanderer is an unknown quantity at this point

Hmmm...

...cutting back on the draw distance in game might help with that.

EDITED BITS: You might also want to try maxing out your draw distance, but turning your frame limiter ON.

On my Radeon 9800pro GTA Vice City looks beautiful. I am running 1280 x 1024 res with 2x AA, 4X AF and getting around 100 FPS average outdoors, indoors is around 150-170. Using Fraps for fps counter.
