XP Boot-time problem Radeon Omega Drivers v4.8.442

Ok, I'm running XP SP2 home with a Radeon x700 AGP and Radeon Omega Drivers v4.8.442.

The problem I'm having is that everytime I boot up my PC, my secondary monitor(aka TV) is automatically enabled and my primary monitor acts like a clone because the screen resolution isn't at full. Once I get to the windows login, the secondary monitor turns off and the primary goes to how it should be. Changing the settings thru ATI Tray tools hasn't corrected the problem.

If I go into safe mode, the secondary monitor stays enabled and the primary monitor still acts like its in clone mode. I am unable to turn off the secondary monitor due to the display adapter being defaulted to VGASave. When I go into device manager, it shows both display adapters enabled, however the secondary monitor says its not using any resources due to an unidentified problem. If I disable & re-enable the display adapters, the system automatically reboots but still defaults to VGASave when in safemode

I'm pretty sure this is all due to me messing with the CCC settings in safe mode way back when I first got the card and before I installed the Omega Drivers. I had followed the recommended steps to remove the ATI drivers, CCC, and use Driver Cleaner Pro.

I'm really at a lost at how to correct the problem and appreciate any help I may get.

Hi there and welcome to DriverHeaven!

There aren't really any issues usually in boot all connected displays shows the same boot picture. And there is no driver setting to change it. Since the drivers in the boot aren't loaded. And that's the deal in safe-mode.

Thanks for the reply! When I had the ATI drivers installed, they did load during safe mode. I was able to use CCC in safe mode without problems. During both boot & safe mode, the screen resolution was as it should be and the secondary monitor was disabled. So I know there is a unwanted difference in its behavior. I'm just trying to figure whats causing the problem. Also, I don't understand why the secondary monitor(a TV thru S-video) is enabled even though the driver isn't loaded. The display on my TV during boot & safe mode is not the default settings, instead it shows up as I specifically set it in the normal XP mode.

I don't wanna appear as a stubborn noob, but I've seen & experienced the differences & I'm trying to correct it. Chances are I just suck at explaining the situation, but I'm trying to give as much detail as possible.

rolleyes Not a problem...

Actually, wat temeteus82 said is true, when u turn ur pc on ur XP drivers dont just load right away, bios has to find the boot code to start XP, the drivers fix this when XP is fully loaded (log on screen) ...
this happens to all video cards that have multiple outputs, I have the same exact card and it did the same thing from when I first installed the card and booted up the PC. Aslong as u have the output connected and No OS to Support multimonitors, the card will show all, if it bothers u that much just turn your TV off when u boot ur PC... other than that there is NO fix for this as this is in fact NOT A PROBLEM.
Get it?
