BTW: I don't follow every thread so perhaps you could provide a more detailed description of what happens. (I don't see all the feedback either.) I hope you can enjoy your new system when you get it, regardless which graphics you choose. Thanks |

18 Wheels of Steel Haulin' - truck game for PC by SCS Software It says D3D. Please point me to what you are actually using? or tell me the version? I am not a mind reader. Well my wife thinks so, but she is entitled. :-) A little more detail would be nice as well. Thanks. Steve. (aka CC not CM as pointed out above) |

Holy shit, you know what? 18 WoSH is pretty damn addictive. :o I just tried out the demo and I'm impressed...
But I can confirm that 7.12 and 8.2 crash the game after the menu. :P |

you have an agp card & a d3d issue?
oh but wait, 7.11 is after agp broke hmm why do you need to keep updating drivers if you're on an x700? just stay with 7.11 i think the current omega 7.12s is one of the last if not the last drivers i'll get on my x800

I got a better idea (more of a work around). Since you know that Cat 7.11s OGL driver works, you could try the old work around trick of copying the 7.11 atioglx2.dll file directly into the game directory (C:\Program Files\18 Wheels of Steel Haulin\). What will happen is that the game will use that file to render with instead of using the one in the Windows\System32 folder. That way you can install the latest drivers, yet still play that game.
Edit: I just tried it here on my main system (ATI X800XT AGP with Cat 7.12 installed), and I can confirm that it works. |

![]() As soon as I ran the game using the Cat 7.12 atioglx2.dll file the menu was fine, but it crashed while loading into a game (starting a "New Game" to be exact). Dropped in the 7.11 atioglx2.dll file into the game folder, and sure enough I was trucking along from Albuquerque to Montreal with a load of engine parts attached to my rigs @$$.

Try to use atioglx.dlls from earlier Catalyst suites. If it helps, then you can make a small .bat script. Edit: Oops, someone has already suggested it.

Yes, the error in the OGL driver component certainly points to an OGL issue. But not being familiar with this game I am going by the game web site which indicates D3D.
Does the game allow you to choose between DX or OGL? That may provide a workaround.. |

nope it doesn't. I think that may be reason why I had hard time get game working 8.2 drivers. I'm glad I finaly slove it on my own.
What others need to do. Uninstalled old. Then boot into safe mode Then run drivercleaner. Then run your tuneups program and iobit avd windows one care freebee one in safe mode. Then restarted. Then installed new drivers it should work. To Steve please look into that game for me from now on. It's fun ![]() That way if there anyissue with new cats you know why it can't run later on. I'm just glad I got working

Robert...
i recently build a new machine where the user plays this game... there are several versions out.. he's using vista x64 as well... the previous versions have nothing but issues.. but the newest version appears to work good after the most recent patch is installed.. he's currently using driver version 8.1's....
