Installed Omega Driver 4.8.442 - Problems after install

Hi,

My video card: ATI Mobility Radeon 9000
System: Windows XP
PC Brand: Gateway Laptop YG6

I installed the Omega Driver 4.8.442 because I'm trying to run a game on my laptop and my driver was out of date which was causing problems. I try to start the game to see if this worked but I get "Game was unable to start up 3D acceleration. Please make sure DirectX 9.0c is installed and your video drivers are up to date."

Before I downloaded the Omega Driver, I could run the game but the graphics were messed up. I do have DirectX 9.0c and it is up to date. When I run dxdiag to try to test the 3D effects on my card those options are no longer available - DirectDraw Acceleration, Direct3D Acceleration, and AGP Texture Acceleration. I also tried to download the ATI driver to get back to where it was and it says it cannot find my video card.

What can I do to fix my problem(s)? I obviously would love to get the vid card working so I can play the game but not I'm more concerned about my system not finding my card. Any help or advice much appreciated. Thanks!
