it seems to be something to do with the openGL plugin i think...since its only glitched in one area...and i personally have play FF7 with my card which is like 288 years older then yours so it most likely is the plugin not the driver or card

same bugs with the pete's opengl2 plugins : glitches in game (Gran Turismo, Ace Combat 3, ...).

I have a HD 2600 pro. May be, when next drivers will be released, it will fix thoses bugs.

Petes opengl drivers are very picky... the first thing is that from what i read previously when using it, was that it's optimised for the nvidia cards.... (aren't most things.... quite irritating)... another is that your running an emulator which isn't guaranteeing proper emulation to begin with.... so your bound to see these issues crop up...

Try a different rendering plugin.

No way! It worked perfectly with my 9800 pro, so, the issues don't came from the plugin. And you are wrong for pete, the drivers are not optimized for nvidia. The issue come from ATI cards which have some issues since X1000 series with OpenGl. So it is not pete, but the drivers. I don't know why ATI is still working so bad on it, may be because they only keep the focus on the X3000 series...

There was an issue with ATI's OGL drivers when used with multiple monitors and resolutions above 1024x768. That was in the 7.5's-7.11s. It was fixed in the 7.12's.

That 'may' have a bearing on your problem if the Petes are based on drivers from that CAT range.

However, if your card is working with everything else, and the problems are only with that one application, then it's hardly because of "shit ati drivers" as you so 'politely' stated.

It looks to me like it's either a APPLICATION problem or a 1d 10t error.

Hm yeah, but other users do not have bugs anymore. Pete's community is still active (especially with openGl 2). Only some cards are affected and mostly the 2x series now. (1X is now fixed for the most part). Especially the 2400 AGP & 2600 AGP which are not yet officially supported by catalyst drivers. (look at ATI drivers page).

So, i am waiting, like hundreds of pple for new drivers for my 2600 pro which will work properly. And, don't tell me about the "AGP hotfix". It is not the real solution : It is not an official release, and is unstable for the most part with graphic glitches.

2 solutions :
1) ATI release a new version of catalyst which support those cards
2) Your card manufacturer release the fixes for your card (as soon as possible).

I also had problems with pete's OpenGL plugin on my MSI RX3850 256MB. I have Ace Combat 2 and it will not run properly, there's some weird flickering and it goes frame by frame. So I switched to his D3D plugin and it's all good now.

fix

Use opengl driver [atioglxx.dll] from catalyst 7.10 to fix graphics bugs, easy way is to download it from here -> Zippyshare.com - atioglxx.zip and copy it to ePSXe directory
