OmegaDrivers killed OpenGL on Radeon Xpress 1150
Hi there.
I recently (today, actually) attempted to update my ATI drivers, and found that after updating, I could no longer get into the CCC. When I tried to select Advanced in the box that came up, both radio buttons ended up selected, and the program crashed. I'd been having issues with the CCC host application crashing often anyways, so after I found out about the OmegaDrivers, I promptly switched. I really like them so far. They even fixed some issues I was having with Direct3D 9 performance where it used to run at about half the speed of Direct3D 8. They now run at the same speed. Except... they seem to have completely killed OpenGL. I tried to play GZDoom, and it just showed a black screen before crashing. I tried to run a game I'm making with Irrlicht, using the OpenGL drivertype, and it crashed too. I know ATI's OpenGL support is bad, but this is terrible. Would anyone be able to help me out? |

I don't want to use Catalyst. I want to use the Omega Drivers. How can I fix this without going to Catalyst?

I'm having trouble understanding you... or maybe you're not understanding me... or both.
I have ATI Tray Tool already. It came with the Omega Drivers. I don't see what it has to do with the fact that all my OpenGL apps crash. CCC was already uninstalled when I switched to the Omega Drivers. In fact, CCC is one of the reasons I switched to Omega Drivers. |

I would suggest that you should have posted in the official Omegadriver thread here:
Radeon Omega Drivers v4.8.442 for Windows XP/2k Would likely get a direct answer from Omegadriver himself that way. Presently, I'm having no issues with OpenGL on my system with the official CAT 7.12s. But, if I'm correct, it looks like you are using a laptop/notebook with an integrated video adapter. If so, you may want to check out the DriverHeaven Modtool. But, be patient first for a reply from Omegadriver.

I see. Sorry about that. I'll post my question there now.
And yes, you are correct. My laptop's a Gateway MT6452. If nothing works, I'll try the modtool. |
