Video problems caused by the driver?!?
To start at the beginning, I got an Acer laptop with an ATI mobil Rad x700 graphics card and I started using the Omega driver right away because I like it better.
I have always had problems viewing most video formats... the video is black when i play it (at places like youtube). Then i found out that if i turn the hardware accelerator off, I can see the video fine. Now I have a new camcorder but im having trouble viewing HD video. The camcorder takes video in MPEG4 (I can see MPEG4 video fine with the hardware accelerator on). When I record non-HD video, it plays fine on my computer. But when I play HD video, I can see the video but it skips rapidly. Im not sure if the HD and the hardware accelerator problems are related but the point is ive always had trouble with video on my computer. I don't mind the hardware accelerator problem (I just noted it in this post because it might be a symptom of an even bigger problem that could be fixed) but I do mind the HD problem. I want to be able to view and edit HD videos. I'm posting here because I never thought until now that this could be a driver problem. I appreciate all the help Thanks! Comp: Win XP. 2ghz 1gb ram ATI mobil Rad x700 graphics card |

lol you cant watch HD content on low end hardware,
are you talking 1920x1080 resolution? you will need a much more powerful CPU a Pentium 4 3.20GHz cant power it either..... what is your CPU exactly? a Core 2 Duo can play that content easily.

Welcome PoleVault.
Have you tried using the Official Catalyst drivers, and/or updating your bios? I've had problems in the past with Omega drivers and video playback.
