I uninstalled the ATI trivers before installation, reinstalled the Mobo AGP drivers after installation, and tried to turn AGP read/write functionality from the Advanced SmartGart window. Any help would be appreciated.

System Specs:
Soyo SY-K7VME Mobo
AMD Sempron 2500+, 1.7 ghz
ATI Radeon 9200, 128 MB
1 gig Ram
DirectX 9.0c
Windows XP Pro, SP2
Which version är you trying to install?
The versions later than v3.8.252 doesn´t work with your card

I have the same card, and have been using the v3.8.252 drivers for several years now. No problems what so ever.

Yes, and I did write that the drivers later than yours will not work

Unable to use Omega Drivers

Hey there,

I have a Dell Dimension 4600 with a 2.4 gHz P4 (original), 2.5 GB RAM, and a GeCube Radeon 9600XT.

When I installed these drivers, my OpenGL programs (my test program was Star Trek: Elite Force, which uses the Quake3 Engine) would no longer work. I tried using the ATI Tools Benchmark program, and that did not work either.

I installed the standard ATI drivers (Catalyst 8.5) and they work fine.

I think there might be an OpenGL issue with the newest Omega Drivers, since I've read previous messages similar to mine. I love the Omega Drivers, and I'm going to try to install the previous version. I'll let y'all know how that went.

Thanks for the tip, but what precisely is "the correct time"? After the error message?

Just for everyone's info, here's a link to the MS support page regarding the issue: Err Msg: Cannot Import <File>. Error Opening the File.

My system is already setup with the fix, and I still had the problem. So, according to the support page the fix is to shorten the folder names.

I imported the two .reg files after the install. I've yet to reboot, so we'll see. I'll also try re-installing and shortening the folder names during the install.

PITA.

Luck!

same problem here, Quake 3 no longer works with latest Omega drivers (4.8.442), same graphics card.

I installed 3.8.252 right now and everything works properly on them.

So 4.8.442 does not work with radeon 9600s? What about 3.8.421s?

Hi,
I've a Radeon 9600/X1050 too and after updating to 4.8.442 I'm getting problems with X-Plane, so now I'd like to downgrade to previous Omega drivers.
Which is the best choice for 9600: 3.8.252, 3.8.260 or newer?

Cheers and Thank you

Is there going to be any new omega drivers?
I am using a Visiontek 2400 HD PCI card, and these drivers may solve certain problems which i am having, but the last ones over at nHQ , the 7.12 i believe, well doesn't support my card, so i can't install them.

Any news ones coming?

Do you even go to his site instead of hoping to be spoon -fed?

Well, I guess I owe you guys an apology for not posting any drivers or any news on the website for a long time, but let me explain what has happened since my last post in January...

First and foremost, on mid-February, one morning I woke up to the scare of my life, my wife had an epileptic attack and that event changed everything in my life from there on, I realized a lot of things and had to change a lot of things also, specially my time with her, I haven't had peaceful day since then, I'm scared she would go into another attack and the worse could happen...

Anyway, besides that event I have been also working with my dad repairing the bathroom since April (he has a full time job, so he comes here to work 1 or 2 days a week), it was a mess when I brought the house 3 years ago, no tiles, broken walls, creepy shower, etc. Good news is we are about to end this week with the repairs (if no other inconvenient shows up).

As for the drivers, well, I hope to get back on track during July. Been retouching and fiddling with the drivers over the past months but was just not ready for a release day (and the stress that comes with it), everything will be updated next month for sure, I don't want to keep delaying this anymore and keep failing my fans.

P.S.
On May, when I was upgrading my system and re-installed Windows XP, somehow (thanks to Windows Live Mail, it overwrote the old database instead of importing it) I lost over 5000 emails, more than half of them new ones, so if you sent me an email and never received an answer, sorry. >_<

Try a different driver, maybe the omega doesn't work with your card right now.

Nah, I don't think that Omega would just let go of his long-term project, the OmegaDrivers. Have you read his postings on omegadrivers.net? He's been ill for quiet a long time and, if I remember correct, right after he recovered, his wife(?) got ill. Let him have the time he needs to "recover his live", then - I'm quiet sure - he will leave us a message about what's going on.

He's done great for years now - maybe now he needs just a rest.

With regards and a lot of admiration towards Omega,
Kringel

What a pathetic comment. Omega has done this for years, basically for free. How many drivers have you made?? Go away.

It has been over 9 months since he released any driver. Remember the year before? He kept saying that he was addicted to WoW and that was one reason why he didn't make any updates. The man lost his will to create drivers. Get it through your head. The Omega Drivers are dead.

So what?

I'm not gonna wheep if there are no more releases of OmegaDrivers in the future, but I really don't like anyone be so harsh against Omega himself - he's spent plenty of time to us (yes: me, you, them - everyone who downloaded his drivers) and does not deserve this!

Actually I believe he does deserve this because he's been keeping us hanging for a very long time without an official notice. His next post on the website is going to be another excuse. I can bet you that. Also, if you read his latest post, it says "Been retouching and fiddling with the drivers over the past months but was just not ready for a release day (and the stress that comes with it), everything will be updated next month for sure," That was in June. July came and nothing. August came and nothing. September came and nothing.

For christ sake give it a rest. He is doing this for fun, because he can as a hobby whenever he has the time. He's not getting paid for it, he's not doing it to save the world. You should be glad that he's done what he has in the past whenever he had the time. You can't demand anything from him. That's the way it is.

And the truth, I wouldn't blame him for giving it up completely after reading the crap some have written in here.
