Problem with Catalyst >7.4 and Radeon 9500
Hi there,
I've got a little problem with my Radeon 9500 card. I recently updated to Omega Drivers 3.8.412 (Catalyst 7.8 I think) from 3.8.360 and this crushed my Direct3D. Dxdiag shows "general error" in 8 (creating 3D device), Direct Draw and all 2D things work fine. Latest ATI Catalyst drivers (7.12) don't work either. Is this a known issue (I read something about problems with old AGP cards but nothing specific). Card is identified correctly (as RADEON 9500). When I go back to 3.8.360 everything works fine as usual. Edit: WinXP SP 2, Athlon 2400+, 1024MB RAM, dxdiag: Code:

Greetings and welcome to DriverHeaven!
You are best off for now running any drivers that work prior to the 7.7 drivers. For some reason, the AGP problems started with that set and have not been universally remedied since. So, if you've got a set of drivers working, stick with those until further notice. We'll be very happy to post an announcement here on DH if and when this problem is confirmed to be fixed. Good luck!
