HD 2600 does not support Win2k

I got an official response fro m ATI that Hd 2600 is not supported By Win2k.

Is that final, or thre will be a workaround?

Welcome to DriverHeaven.

If ATI told you that, I would take that as gospel. I don't know any higher authority when it comes to ATI cards.

aNy_oNE is an unknown quantity at this point
System Specs

I think the reason is that their drivers no longer support Win2k, so you cannot install the latest drivers (which you need for the card to work.)

The thing goes like this.
I bought the Gecube HD 2600pro AGP card. I tried installing it with the setup programm and had no success. I tried manually installing it and Win2k recognised the inf for Windows Vista. So I took that inf file modified it with the xp settings and managed to install the card. I then installed ATI CCC. All was well. Bute I had made a mistake and previously unistalled MB drivers. When I tried to reinstall them I got a message that the driver was for a previous version and never worked since.

So the problem is a poorly written inf file.

I cannot believe that Win2k cannot use a WinXp driver, since they are practically the same.

And who's badly written .inf file is it?

But, as stated, ATI/AMD no longer support Windows 2K. What you've done is modified things at your own risk.

Let us know if it you get it straightened out. I think you're on your own on this one.

Unfortunately the only working inf i managed to create got lost, so *^$#&#*^)&_#*__

Since there was no other way, I finally moved to Windows XP. Since I use the computer for my work, I was reluctant but everything went well.
