In which case I'm tempted to give them a try later, cheers bo.

Whats MOM.exe? Can I disable it cause it still crashes every time I go to shut down. I really would like to use the CCC but not if this error still occurs.

Anyone that has Crossfire having success with these for Quakewars?

I'm getting blue corruption noise in Crossfire with two X1950XTX's as well as flickering on off vehicles/players and certain buildings. This was suppose to be fixed!

Can anyone confirm this? the corruption is more annoying with Quakewars which is not much help when the majority of time the players etc are invisible with a slight fast shimmer during ETQW gameplay. Blue horizontal corruption interferance lines like you get on a TV in certain places that show at random on the screen. The flickering of players etc bring on the noise which is also causing it to kill performance.

Also when Crossfire is enabled the load times are hugely increased in Quakewars, once you're in game it becomes a slide show. After 10 seconds or so the performance is back. In single card mode the map load times are fast plus no other problems. This is with the old Crossfire dongle setup.

Can anyone confirm these problems with X19xx as well as 29xx?

Invisible vehicles (Quad) and building with Crossfire enabled.

Also why when a game crashes if the game uses say 1680x1050, and your desktop resolution is 1920x1200. If the game crashes like TF2 when Crossfire is enabled, the desktop is stuck at 1680x1050. This still happens when Crossfire is not set. This also happens with NFS: Most Wanted.

Even though *Apply the new display settings without restarting* is checked. Trying to switch back to the native desktop display resolution, the ATI drivers ask for a system reboot for the settings to take effect!

It's the third driver that doesn't work in my x1950 pro AGP.... It's unbelievable... They know the drivers don't work and they dont get it fixed!

I bought quite some games that have specific fixes in the latest drivers and i've kept myself from playing them but i'm finding this wait unberable and i'm starting to think that this problem will never get sorted!

For the first time in years using ATI hardware, I'm really disapointed with ATI right now!

They worked fine for my X1950PRO AGP

If what Dyre said doesn't work try the following...

1) Uninstall ATI driver, CCCm wdm, uninstaller (anything AMD related)
2) reboot into safe mode
3) Go to Device Manager and uninstall the display adaptors
4) Open DriverCleanerPro
5) Run a Cab Cleaner and the SP2 Cleaner
6) Now run DriverCleanerPro and select everything AMD related
7) Reboot into normal windows mode
8) Install just the display driver.

One thing that still cheeses me off is the 'MOM.exe' error from the CCC when you shut down windows, it only delays my shut down by a second but its frustrating to see its still doing it since they introduced this process back in Catalyst 7.2

I gave them an 8, so far everything is running fine, I haven't really noticed any differences in performance, but CCC has changed a bit and they're finally working on my x1950pro agp. I did get an error the first time I tried to install them: "setup will only run in administrator mode" then I tried to install them in safe mode, but it just didn't see the videocard and finally tried it again in normal mode and they did install. But I'm happy they're working, so not going to complain about the install problems I had :P

I'm having the same problem with these drivers as I had with the 7.9 on my daughters PC with a x800Pro. With both drivers, I lost all support for DirectX. OpenGL apps would work fine, but everything that used DirectX would crash. Even the Direct3D Acceleration test in the DirectX Diagnostic Tool would fail under all three tests. It is becoming frustrating and not sure what the cause is. And yes, ran Driver Cleaner in safe mode after uninstalling, newest version of DirectX 9.0c installed, the whole ten yards.

PC Specs are:
MSI KT880 Delta motherboard
AMD AthlonXP 3200+
1GB Kingtson memory
ATI Radeon x800Pro AGP
WinXP SP2

I have exactly the same problem here, only that I'm using a Sapphire x1650 Pro AGP. (Thanks for saving me the extra typing ^-^)

You are welcome. This issue is also why I am going to refrain from voting in the poll. I'd like to tell everyone how they work for me, but unfortunately they do not work at all. So, I will have to hold my vote until I can hopefully resolve this matter.

Best driver Ive seen in a long time from ATI for me.
Those having issues did you check the smart gart settings after install?
last 3 or 4 sets seem to not enable AGP WRITE and READ.PCI WRITE AND READ you have to manually set everything on and sometimes reinstall chipset driver to get them to work.

Thanks Wise, I'll check that out and let you know if it worked for me or not.

My card is the HIS x1950 Pro Turbo 512 MB

The 7.8s at first screwed up my desktop icons but after an additional reboot it fixed itself.
The 7.9s totally didn't work; couldn't boot into WinXP except in safe mode to uninstall them again.
The 7.10s work. they installed fine and I ran Silent Hunter 4 for a couple of hours with no problems.

Not sure yet what games can benefit from this new adaptive AA, so I'll have to read up on it.

Anyway, too bad that these recent driver sets are so quirky. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if the next game I try to play won't work . . . fingers crossed.

I give them a 4 Performance UmImprovements I want see more in that for my x700pro card I scored 4059 last set was over 4100 for 7.9 drivers but I'm not going back that finaly got TDU working because of 1.66A patch issue that was causing my desktop crash.

I had to give them only a 1. No DirectX with these drivers. Reverted back to 7.8 and the Radeon x800Pro AGP works fine once again.

Wize,
I checked what you suggested. AGP Read&Write, PCI Read&Write and Fast Writes all enabled, Direct3D tests failed. Maybe this card and or AGP slot is no longer supported?

Here hint everone if you should really get more ram. It really helps the system out. I just got a 1gig of stick of ram for my system now. I have 1gig for my games and 512 for windows which it really used anyway.

WELL DONE the ATI crew....

Well I never, after all these years ATI are back on the case and have actually release a good set of drivers, tested these on all my games and find they are, nice and fast the graphics are very nice and up to now they are bug free and stable for me. Keep it up the ATI crew, your on a winner. I have finally put my Cats version 6.10 to rest, long live Cats version 7.10.

Thanks for the suggestion, but only 7.8 disabled the AGP and PCI writes and reads for me, 7.9 and 7.10 did not. Also for 7.8, it was impossible to get them to turn back on manually even with reinstalling the chipset drivers. Anyway, while 7.7s seem to work fine for me I actually used this opportunity *cough* to switch back to the 7.6s since those were reportedly the ones that still worked fine for everybody with AGP.
