Omega Drivers: Forcing ATI YPbPr output without HDTV dongle?
Hi Guys, sorry but I'll explain my story before I get to the question.
Basically I have a Media Centre PC with a ATI 9550 with only a DVI connector. Without doing too much research I bought a 'DVI to Component' cable http://sewelldirect.com/DVI-to-Compo...Cable-10ft.asp .Unfortunately I didn't relize at the time that ATI cards actually require a dongle which 'switches' on the HDTV YPbPr output http://shop.ati.com/product.asp?sku=2537967 .Lots and lots of research and trial and error later I've managed to get the TV working by using an older version of the Omega Drivers and a little utility called ATICVPatch which was written years ago and is totally outdated. It did however give me a 720p output. Went to hell and back to get this going. Now... after many software reloads my Media Box is running like crap and needs a format C:\. Is there an easier way to switch on YPbPr output within Omega Drivers (I've gathered it is only registry settings holding it back from outputting what I need) so don't need to load ATICVPatch again? If not could this be a support request? ![]() Cheers for your help Last edited by senti@nt; Aug 7, 2007 at 01:48 AM. Reason: Damn brackets ;o) |

Sorry to bump but noone on the 'net seems to know anything about this. Could ATI Tray Tools have something deep down that would do the same thing? I've tried it out but can only find references to TV out and not YPbPr thru DVI.
