Moved the computer-ATI 9600 doesn't work now!

I'm having quite the problem and I'm not 100% sure if my moving the computer had anything to do with it.

This morning my computer was just fine. It worked great. Later on I'd be moving it back upstairs to my room, so I unplugged everything, brought it back up here and hooked it up all over again.

Well, it wasn't the first time I did this, so I did everything like I normally would do. I turn on my computer and it seems a bit slow on internet things. I figure its just getting a better signal.

Then I go to load up Xfire, and I get some weird colour lines across the screen and then it goes back to normal. Then I figured it must be the card. So I tried booting up a game, and it says my drivers aren't up to date. So I try reinstalling them, it doesn't go through. It said something about not being an XP logo approved and said if I went ahead with the installation, things could go bad. So I cancelled it, it told me to reboot and I did.

It looks like this-http://i9.tinypic.com/4ykkehu.jpg

When it reboots, it says the installation wouldn't go through. Graphically, things are going slow and then the computer freezes. That hasn't happened in over a year! Maybe more.
So I look for some drivers on the net, and I see some new ones.
"Oh, cool. That must be why.. don't they just tell you about new updates?" so I'm thinking that and also wondering why it would stop working today after I move the machine, after the date it was released. I shrugged it off and went for it.

Nothing. It just wouldn't install.

After having to reboot a lot, I notice the screen going black at times or just freezing. I'm getting frustrated.

I checked the sticky at the top about common solutions and I might have seen one that answered my question but I'm still a bit confused with how its explained. So forgive me if my answer is there and just explain it in a simple way if possible please?

How do I get my drivers updated or to work? Looks like I have v2.6.75a Omega drivers.

Moving the PC won't affect the software (unless the move damaged the hard drive - highly unlikely). But it may have caused your card or its cable(s) to become loosened or dislodged. I'd open it up and check the card is seated properly and the cables are fully plugged in.

Yeah, I figured that it wouldn't but it didn't start until I moved the computer. Its a bit weird, at least for me.

Well I just shut the computer off and checked to see if everything was ok. I made sure nothing was loose and everything seemed ok. I tried booting it up but it froze on the part where it looks for the hardware. So I had to restart again. Said that the installation wouldn't go through when it loaded and I got an error again for trying to load up the game.

I don't know why it started happening now. Could the power supply cause problems?

Moving the computer definitely can cause something to get loose and maybe only enough to cause intermittent problems. You say you checked things over and they looked fine. But, if this were a situation I was dealing with, I'd go ahead and remove any cards installed and then reseat them and make sure they are firmly inserted and aligned properly. Don't overlook the RAM modules, either.

Also, check every power connector by pulling it off and then plugging it back again.

While you have the side cover off, make sure the inside of your case and around the fans is free of dust. Use canned compressed air to blow out the inside of the case. Just don't get too close to the fans but close enough to get the dust off of them. Be sure to check the PSU fan/s, too.

How old is the PC? If it's two-three years old, having it unplugged for a few moments may have even reset the CMOS if the CMOS battery is dead. You may need to go into the BIOS and make sure everything is setup properly if this is the case.

Be sure you have the latest motherboard chipset drivers installed. Also, make sure you have the latest DirectX installed. And, then try installing the video drivers again.

Good luck!

I moved my computer one time. Immediately following the move, my computer would freeze when I tried to shutdown. I solved the problem while troubleshooting another issue, I'm assuming reseating all my PCI cards and etc. fixed it.

Assuming your BIOS is set correctly, and everything is sitting right in the case, I don't really know what else you could do.
