BSOD with all driver versions.
I have a bit of a problem that I don't know what it is.
I play and suddenly my computer just freezes. If I let it be like that it eventually crashes to bluescreen and reports "ati2dvag" as being the cause. This happens just without any warning. It can happen after 10 minutes of playing and it can happen after 2 hours of playing. I had 7.4 but rolled back to 6.12 to check and it seems a bit better but I haven't tested long enough to be quite sure. I did also check the gpu temp and it was up to about 75 when the load was high so maybe it is heat causing this problem? I have installed ATT so I can adjust the fanspeed and I'm going back to 7.4 as well. If that's not the cause, can it be the nforce3 drivers? If so then I'm screwed because they aren't updating those anymore. |

Things can get unseated due to heat/cold;expansion/contraction. So, do that and then let us know if there's any change. Good luck!

Everything is. A few days ago I replaced the original CPU fan with a zalman cooler as well. Getting down the cpu temp from 55 to 40 degrees during load made no change.
I've now installed 7.4 again, used ATT to modify fan speed so now when I play gpu temp hasn't been over 63. Still no crash but I haven't played that long. Gonna try more. |

Well.
So far so good. I've played extensively all day, quite a few hours straight, and there has been no crashes. I've increased the fanspeed a bit more to keep the temp low. I'm wearing a headset anyway so the noise isn't much of an issue. Topped out at about 60 degrees. So, I guess this means those crashes were heatrelated? |

Something you might try, if you haven't done so or thought about it, is to add some 120 mm case fans to your PC case. Don't know which case you're actually using, but, if you can get some good airflow going it could help you reduce the video card's fan back to normal speeds.

To be honest, I have the case open at all times right now. I need a new case because there aren't more places to put any fans on it.
Bad judgement when I bought it. |
