LCD flashes after loading Omega 38330

Hi Everyone,

I loaded the Omega 38330 (7.0.4.0) drivers on my laptop for the first time and now I am having issues with both the notebook and external LCD screens flashing (appears to reset) 2 to 3 times on startup.

My system specs are below:
Lenovo T60P Laptop
ATI Mobility FireGL v5200 (same as x1600 I think)
Windows XP SP2
Omega 38330

I saw a similar thread related to nVidia cards earlier but can't find it now.

I would like to understand why the flash/reset is occuring and how to stop it.

Thanks for any help that can be provided.

System Specs

First up, welcome to the forum.

Quick question for you: which control panel are you using? The old style control panel that comes with Omegas drivers, or the Cataslyst Control Center? What is happening is that the CCC is autodetecting your monitor, and it's capabilites. Believe it or not I get more complaints about this than you might think, but it really is perfectly normal. The only way I've found to overried this is to not use the CCC, but instead use the old Control Panel. The only thing is that Omega uses the old style CP normally, so if that's why you are using too then I'm wondering if it has to do with a specific setting he's using.

Tipstaff,

Thanks for the welcome.

To answer your question, I am using what is installed with the Omega drivers. I have not installed any other video software other than the Omega drivers and a monitor file for my Lenovo Flexview LCD panel (but the flashing occured before the monitor file was installed).

I have tried changing a couple different settings but nothing seemed to help.

Any other suggestions would be welcome.

Thanks.
