recommend an alternative for x1950 pro ??

Hi, I tried to buy a x1950 pro a while back, it was DOA. Anyway, for the price £140 it seemed like the best value out there. now they seem to have stock issues everywhere.
whats a good alternative, equal to cost/speed.?
nvidia or Ati, I don`t mind. I`m also not sure which nvidia the x1950 is supposed to be competing with.?

cheers,
higgles

my current card is an agp x800. I probably should upgrade my old athlonXP system (or buy a new one) but i`m draggin it out cos i`m not rich at the moment. still i`d like a nwe gfx card. FPS` are getting too pretty for my older card.
My system is agp only btw.

I think that your cpu is the bottle neck if you get new gfx card. It's just too slow to feed data to your gfx card. But if you get new you will not gain much fps boost. Start saving for pci-e system is my recommendation.
