Having problem w/c&c generals freezing
It just freezes every so often for a few seconds. Not exactly stuttering. Any ideas what is causing it?

What detail and aa/af settings are you using? Its an incredibly intensive (cpu+video) game. Is it happening even when there are only a few units onscreen?

Try the latest version, 1.04 has some fixes with 9700 card has been added.

sounds to me like some background app is running for that few seconds then clears up. Try disabling them all then give C&C a go......

I have the latest 1.04 patch for generals. I also tried the latest ati drivers. I am running the game @ 1024x768 with 6xaa and 16xaf on quality setting. No problems like that with any other game though. I have tried removing every background app that I could see. It happens in skirmish, net, and online games. Funny thing is that it was working just fine before I switched to a wd 80gb 7200rpm 8mbcache hd. I heard someone say something about netbios on another forum but I'm not sure what that is.
