Sapphire 9700 and the new MMC8.1
Everything started out so well, until I inserted my Sapphire driver CD for the DVD install, and got the message "Valid ATI CD not found"...
Am I stuck with the old MMC/DVD?....
Or will I have to payout again for an ATI CD?....

well I cant comment on the 8.1 as I havent installed it, and my mate has my ATI sapphire driver CD atm so I cant check myself --- but this is most unusual.
I hope some other members have information on this. if you dont get any feedback ill contact someone in ATI about this.

For setting up dvd decoder, AtiCDwiz want BBA(Built by ATi) installation CD.
If you use PBA(Powered by ATi) product. dvd decoder(It based Cyberlink PowerDVD XP 4.0 patch 2417)
should not install.
ps. Finally, I installed DVD decoder for PBA my 9700 Pro-Saphire ones. (Sxxing korean reseller..They forgot to support installation cd to customer.) But I couldn't mention about that because forum's rule.
ATi DVD Player is the best player for RADEON. Screen display is great.

In other words, I'm up the creek without a paddle (Valid ATI CD) when it comes to MMC8.1.

I am not at home right now but I believe that I got a similar error. I have pulled my DVD Rom out of my box so perhaps it was because there was no DVD player in my machine.

Sorry, my internet connection is very odd...I can't connect driverheaven site well..
I mean....
For Full installation of MMC 8.1.(especially dvd player), MMC want BBA(Built by ATi) installation CD.
(BBA installation cd have its own serial number.)
In case of PBA(Powered by ATi) product (Third parties RADEON series) installation cd couldn't
recognize ATiCDwiz for dvd decoder installation.
ATi...they don't want play dvd on PBA radeon product.
