Default Post Catalyst Crew Feedback Program

All,

In an effort to help catch potential issues, I would kindly ask everyone to report ALL issues you’re experiencing via the Catalyst Crew Feedback Program. This program was implemented to help catch potential issues with newly released drivers so that we can quickly report back to software engineering.

If you have any questions, PM me.

One thing I just discovered while trying to help someone with a Radeon card that is no longer supported by newer drivers:

If you follow the prompts on the new ATI/AMD website looking for drivers, select (in this case) a 7000 series card, and select Windows XP/Pro, you'll be taken to the download of the latest 6.11 drivers. Shouldn't this, in fact, direct these users to the older drivers?

Look at the link, the filename says:
6-11-pre-r300_xp-2k_dd_ccc_wdm_38185.exe
So it should be 6.11 for pre-R300 cards.

In that case, there should be some kind of disclaimer/information stating so very plainly. First of all, ATI says they won't be supporting the older cards, and then they turn around and slip something like this in without any kind of PLAIN explanation.

I've been using ATI cards for years, and, it stumped me! Someone needs to get on the ball and make sure the user sees very plainly what they're getting.

So, was Catalyst 6.5 the last version to support cards prior to 9500 series or not? Since they said that was going to be it, they need to make a very CLEAR statement of any changes since that announcement.

Of course, I don't use the older cards anymore myself.

And for the confusion to be complete, the release notes for these pre-R300 are the same as for normal 6.11 - stating that the support ends with R9500...

A little suggestion: The "operating system" slider should have Linux in it.

Armed Assault will require some sort of Crossfire Profile.I have tried renaming the .exe to AFRfriendlyD3D has no effect, Sliding the Catalyst AI to Advanced results in worse performance, Enabling Adaptive AA also results in loss of perfomance(all tested with Balanced settings minus V-synch forced off and on with no change. Basically performance is the same wether Crossfire is enabled or not.
BTW if you guys want something to test the new AA methods, lets say you have thousands of Alpha Texture clad trees to play with...I will also add that raising some

Anyone notice how there is no Radio Button for 7.2 on the Feedback page?

I wanted to report a problem with not having any options on Windows XP Pro SP2 in advanced mode of CCC.

By the way, I did a full uninstall and ran DriverCleaner before installing 7.2

EDIT: HMM...just ran through uninstall, restart, driver cleaner, reinstall and all is fine. Odd.

The Report site needs to update so that the CAT 7.2s can be selected for reporting.

The CCC installer is broken. The Graphics-Full-Existing package silently fails with "Invalid Drive D:\" (after removing the quiet switches or trying to install that package alone)

yep, using XP home sp2, Cat 7.2, X700 Pro

The install of the control center completes, but when I open it it goes straight to this: (advanced mode is MIA)

I got this weird feeling something was missing...Espically since the quick settings tab mentions clicking on an "advanced" button that doesnt seem to exist for me. So, I tried reinstalling and it had no effect. I downloaded the stand alone 7.2 CCC package, ran the exe and then went to where it extracted, opend up install.ini and removed the /quiet switches from [CCC_XP] and re-ran the installer
I get this at the ccc-graphics-full-existing.msi package:

from what I can tell, it looks like that package contains all of the advanced mode files, which is probably obvious information

oh, btw, I'm still having the issue where at startup by resolution resets to 640x480 and refresh to 60hz. If memory serves there was an article about it before in the ati knowledge base a bit back that said they were looking into it. It started for me with the catalyst 6.7 drivers and words cant describe how annoying it is.

After installing the Cat 7.12 CCC, I lost the video portion of my HDTV wonder card. I was using an older driver set (9.08) so I updated to the 9.16's which seem to be incompatible with my system. I guess that version has Avio, so I installed the 9.13's and still no picture. Installed the Cat 6.12's and all is back to normal. Does this mean I can't use the HDTV wonder with the seven series drivers? Hope this is the right place to post this. Sorry if it's not.

It also does not show CAT 7.7, so can't report ati2mtag.sys error log that I posted in the Cat 7.7 thread.

I have reported my VPU Recover problem on freshly installed windows xp sp2 on hd2900xt with cat's 7.8
Someone should fix this asap. Alot of users are getting this error. According to Catalyst crew team this was suppose to be fixed in cat's 7.6's but it isn't.

I've been posting to the feedback form for years...

seems my bug submissions have fallen on DEAF EARS since bugs / glitches i first reported on different cards years ago still exist on new cards with new drivers...

Why bother posting if ATI is going to abandon their line of AGP cards?

on a small side note, I've bought ATI cards since the days of the Rage3D...

FarCry has never worked correctly on any of my ATI AGP cards since it's release, or, for that matter, on any of my motherboards (all of which are Intel motherboards). I've submitted bug reports regarding FarCry to Ubisoft, they blame ATI's drivers every time, with each release of a new ATI driver i check to see if the FarCry glitch is there, it still is to this day, I've submitted bug reports for 3 YEARS and to this day the glitch isn't fixed. Ubisoft blames ATI, ATI blames Ubisoft, and 3 years later it's still NOT fixed... (the most notable was when they blamed my onboard soundcard for the graphical problems... Index of /screenshots is where you can see my screenshots of the "gradient glow" glitch coming from the screen edges)

Please, for the love of _____ (insert into blank some deity or something), tell the people at ATI to take into consideration the QUALITY vs QUANTITY argument. New features are nice, but what's the point if old features are still broken?

ATI-based Powercolor X1550: s-video not working with driver

Hi there.

I posted this problem in the ATI Radeon Drivers XP forum and after helping me try to resolve this issue, Dyre Straits suggested that I make ATI aware of it as it's still not resolved:

I'm using the card in a PVR machine that I have (Dell Dimension 5000, Windows XP Pro, PCI-E ATI Powercolor X1550 graphics card, Hauppauge PVR150 video capture card) and therefore need to use the S-Video output to get a display on my analogue TV. However, with the ATI driver and this card, all I can get is the DELL logo on startup followed by the Windows XP startup screen. After that, the TV remains blank.

If I do not load a driver, I get a display on the TV, but the resolution is insufficient for my PVR software (GB-PVR).

Here's a link to my posts on this, with further descriptions and Dyre Strait's input:
ATI-based Powercolor X1550: s-video not working with driver

I hope that this helps.

Regards
CiaranJ

Pissed Still same video acceleration problem.

This problem exists on last 3 versions as I know (7.8, 7.9, 7.10) and still nothing done to repair it? Is this really a very small problem? Does ATI think we don't play any videos at all and playing only games? I upgraded my drivers yesterday and when I see the same problem.. I think it's again time to rollback to previous version :P
