6.10 Cats released tommorow, 20th of last month ? :)
Thats right if ati is on schedule new 6.10s will be out tommorow.
what i would like fixed in this set is HDR+AA games.
ATI is so renound for sporting this extra feature when in fact its bloody impossible almost to get the bitch to work right....
for instance : 6.8s Call of jurez worked with hdr+AA when renamed to oblivion and oblivion worked when forced, now with 6.9s oblivion doesnt work at all anymore and either does call of jurez when renamed to oblivion....
splinter cell chaos theory doesnt work at all with HDR + AA becuse of UBISOFT and there GAY programers.
now Splinter cell double agent is around the corner and im guessing we will get no HDR+AA in this game either
even though HDR+AA was one of ATIs extra neat features, its almost bloody impossible to get the bitch working right...
what is ati doing about this ? bloody nothing.
whats also funny aswell is 32bit os users got the x9.10 betas, what the hell happened to x64bit users aswell ! ? we where completely forgotten about as usual.

Well I mean I dont play any of the games effected I too am mildy peeved by this as well, in principle. They have said and still say its the "Whiz Bang" feature for the X1xx series yet here we are in the end of its lifecycle and its still not a standard feature.
I personally would rather see a bit more freedom with Crossfire or at least some less transparent usage of it. I never know whats going to work and not or which mode its even using. I just picked up GTR2 and I love it but I spent at least an hour trying to find a setup that worked right.

I want to see crossfire fixed... it's horribly broken since 6.6's. and even the 6.6's are quite horrid.

You want HDR+AA in games? I suggest you tell the game developers, because its they who are at fault for it not being available in most games. They are the ones with the ability to enable these two features to work together. ATi would have to do highly hackish workarounds (like the chuck patch) to add it themselves.
So, tell the devs that you want them to code their games to take advantage of your card. I believe all the games you mentioned are TWIMTBP titles (just like seemingly every game these days), so its a simple two and two.

This is true, just look at Farcry. Farcry is TWIMTBP game and in the 1.4 beta patch they had AA+HDR for ATI cards, but as soon as 1.4 is officialy released the AA+HDR and even HDR is removed for ATI products as its supposedly an "engine issue" that can not be repaired for ATI cards. But you can count on Nvidia releasing a card that can do both HDR+AA at the same time there will be patches galore for these games so it can be enabled properly. Then and only then will we see a proper driver that does not require a chuck patch.
This was my main reason for purchasing my Crossfire X1900XTX and not a 7950 GX2 Quad SLI setup, but to only be disapointed that the only game I can have max IQ in is the HL2 series and everything else relies on work around driver patches....

You could add Serious Sam 2 and the soon to be released Dark Messiah and Neverwinter Nights 2 to that list.

I still think the developers/publishers should be aschamed. They basicly 'diss' 50% of the games (in my mind 50% is ati, the rest is nvidia).
I mean... WHY even BOTHER wasting time on creating errors like "you cannot enable AA and HDR at the same time" in those games. Just leave it alone for the love of...
The 1XK series have been out for a YEAR now. Youre telling me that developers STILL haven´t found out about the HDR+AA fueture? YET, they are like kids in candy stores when they hear about nvidias lovely shadow-crapptastic-feuture that TOTALLY messes the shadows for ATi cards (BF2 + BF2142 anyone?). ATi customers are being treated like shit - and personally im totally fed up with this.
I havent bought any game that i found is behaving bad toward me (an simple ATi-user).
Call of Juarez: No HDR+AA - no money from me.
BF2142: Messed up shadows - no money from me.
SC:CT: No HDR+AA even though it works in the demo - no money from me.
Gothic3: Engine has been proved to run perfect with HDR+AA. No way im buying this.
And probably more that i have forgotten about.
Well thats it from me, from now on ill check out demos of games. If a game doesnt have HDR+AA or corrupt shadows due to use of the nvidia-thingie - i wont buy it. There is no reason for the developers to hack the games so that no AA is available with HDR.

Check out any "Feature List" for an X1xx series card.

Guys, lets keep the flaming out of here and keep this thread about opinions on the up-comming driver-releases.
ATi has said that game-specific-profiles are comming, so that is one feuture im looking forward too.
Other than that, and the regular performance increases in diffrent scenarios (like opengl-games and use of AA), ATi drivers are really good on my system.
The CCC takes 2 seconds to start, and that after 3 hours of Oblivion. Normally it starts instantly. Performance in most (all?) games are great. There is no game that i haven´t been able to play in max settings. I mean, many talk about Oblivion - but with ati drivers i am playing beyond max settings (use of HDR+AA) without any issues whatsoever.
What i would want to see are more settings in the 3D-settings of the CCC. Take Crossfire for example. I want to be able to force ANY of the diffrent modes and try wich one works best MYSELF. Waiting for ATi to "add support" will never work. I would never go Crossfire for as long as that is the situation.
What about finally adding the "Flip Queue Size"-setting into the CCC? This setting seems to really solve mouselag in a few games. Or if you dont have any mouselag - setting it to 3 will give a slight boost in performance. After all, we have an Advanced CCC - this is exactly where settings like these should be.
Instead of the 3D-refreshrate Override option in the CCC - i´d like something much more aggressive. That option doesn´t work in 50% of my games, while a third party program like 'Refresh force' works 100% of the time. Sure i could keep on using Refresh Force, but why not ask for something better integrated into the drivers?

I don't really care about the performance improvements, they often cause more bugs then improvements anyway, I just want all games to work without crashes including oblivion. Stability first then maybe some performance improvements. If the performance improvements are for the new series why should the ones sitting with the old cards be affected. Hope they'll fix the crashes from 6.8-6.9 because I really want all the other stuff they fixed in those drivers.

Actually I'm not sticking up for Robert, the fact is he didn't report the post. It doesn't matter who reported it or not. The fact is that the post wasn't only offensive but useless . I acted as a moderator of the ATi driver forum not as a zer0point member. But no sweat, you can be sure that the next warning will surely not come from me.

exactly, ViruS2k may need to relax a bit, no need to bash ATI just because you choose to use the x64 version of XP Pro. I used it for a long period of time also but reverted to the 32bit version due to lack of drivers for certain things
