Basically what I want to know is, what would be safer to have... the custom Acer ATI drivers (I have a Acer Aspire 3650 with a ATI Mobility Xpress 200M) or the Omega drivers (since the official ATI mobility drivers arent compatible with my card)? My laptop gets kinda hot from just sitting on the desktop and while it could be unrelated to the card or just how the laptop works, perhaps the drivers might be to blame.
I would think the Omegas would run better since they're probably more updated than the Acer ATI drivers, but I can't help but think the laptop would be better off using the drivers made for it. Could this even be a possibility? Dunno if the custom Acer ATI drivers maybe underclock or optimize to make sure the card doesn't work too hard and therefore make it hot. I don't remember if it got this hot with the default drivers.
Any insights would be appreciated. Thanks! This is my first laptop so I am just trying to learn it a little.
