New HP nc8430, x1600 omega driver, ati cat, cant get full screen on bf2 ? i need help!

Hello everyone this is my very first post and i've already tried looking for help. I have a brand new nc8430 laptop with of course the x1600. My problem is that im getting black bars and not full screen when i play battlefield 2.

First of all im able to get 3665 using 3dmark05 with my default hp/ati driver that came installed with the laptop. (default 3dmark05 setting)

With the omega (overclocking disabled i was getting 3777) not a huge differnce and this is using default settings on 3dmark05.

I do notice i can go up select resolutions of 1400 x 1050 (not exact but those are the numbers i rememeber) and at 100hz using the OMEGA (the newest release out there as ofsep3rd 06) on BF2 video menu section and using the hp/ati installed driver my selection was capped at around 1200x800

Heres what doesnt make since at all, and is fustrating

In this scenario im fine and happy* Both scenarios i have my background desktop res at 1680x1050

using the outout box HP/ati driver Once i load bf2 i get full screen during demo video and no matter what res i selet I still get full screen. just not the greatest and sharpest resolution on game, for example pixelated and crappy, which sucks but atleast full screen which is wonderfull. I can set to HIGH and res at 1280 x 800 i think and full screen. Also no matter what res I select even at low res Im still at full screen.

2nd scenario*
Ive tried both these drivers and got same results the 1st newest ati catalyst and 2nd omega . On both drivers as soon as I start bf2 im not at full screen, i get black bars on the side,On the omega driver i was able to select under Video feature on bf2 up to 1400x 1050 at 100hz and also the lowest resolution i think its 800x600 , but no matter what i do not get full screen. I tried all settings on the game video selection and cannot get full screen no matter what. Whats odd is even as soon as I click on the bf2 icon i do not get full screen. I do not get what im supposed to do to enable this, I tried messing with the background desktop omega settings and its at 1680x1050, i selected performance setting and tried almost every possibilty. What am i missing........

At default video settings on bf2, i get full screen off the bat using facotry installed hp/ati driver but not full screen using omega or ati cat

Im sure its a simple button im not clicking on or selecting under the driver, anyone run into this ?

Well after i didnt get anyluck i did a HP system restore and back to defualt hp/ati driver, I clicked on bf2 icon and i got full screen right off the bat again, why isnt the better performing drivers not giving me the full screen. I know for me the omega gave me the best res options under video menu on the game but i still cannot get full screen..

Pleeeeeeeeeeease help....by the way sorry for all the typos its 3am an i came on here looking for some help... thanks in advance an looking forward to responses...

... and what refresh rate (Herz)?
Use 85 hz or 75 hz, that should fill the screen.

Btw, do not expect highest performance on a laptop with ATI X1600 at "1400 x 1050 (not exact but those are the numbers i rememeber) and at 100hz"
I don't play BF2, but look in the games settings if you can force the game to use 60 Hz with that resolution you use.
Otherwise, in ATI Control Center (advanced) you can create a profile for the game: >>>Display Options > "3D Refresh rate override" (By default, some full screen applications operate at a refresh rate of 60 hz instead of the desktop refresh rate. To resolve this, select the desired refresh rate override). Select 60 or 75.

full screen

It was a scaling selection issue thats all. I had to go into panel and select "scale image - full panel size" the omegas default is scale image -maintain spect ratio. I was able to play bf2 at 1400 x 1050 at 85hz, and everything set on high with AA at 4x. The games graphics are super sharp with "maintain spect ratio" which has black bars on the side. the full screen stretches. Will there, or is there a widescreen spect ratio 16:9 driver that will be crystal clear? does this make any sense
