Wonderful news!!!
Do these make any special use of the 256 or more of VRAM?
EDIT: I noticed that the driver installation was silent instead of verbose. Any particular reason for the change? I'm used to seeing the drivers being installed and to which folder/directory they're going. This installation didn't show anything except when it was finished....with the exception of the prompt to "Continue anyway...."

I'd like to know this aswell.
The reason is that I recently got a 9600xt 256mb and I installed NGO 1.6.6 Ultra Edition-drivers on it to take advantage of the "VRAM-tweaks". I haven't done any benchmarking to see if these "VRAM-tweaks" in the Ultra Edition really helped but if they do then it would be nice to have them in your drivers as well.
I've used Omegadrivers since the 3dfx-days and if those tweaks work then they would make your fantastic drivers even better.

Its impossible to link.. But no worries. Go to ati.com. Click on the "customer care" link. To the left, top side, there should be a list, and above it a search function. Type 'nforce4' and you will find what you are looking for (i think).

They do include the ATT. We're trying to find out if Omega does use anything to help those with 256 or more of VRAM. There is NO option to choose anything like the Ultra that is used in the NGO drivers. Maybe, though, we don't need to.

Unauthorized download
We're sorry, but this download request cannot be authorized. As an option, you may visit any of the pages below for information about ATI services and products: - ati.com home
Connect to ATI's latest information.
- Customer Care
Access technical support, drivers, and frequently asked questions.
There could be several reasons why you're seeing this page: - You clicked on a link on a site that is not part of the ATI domain.
- You're using a download manager. Download managers usually offer to search for alternative download locations. While this is nice for the user, it's bad for the webmaster because a download which originated on another site could theoretically still be downloaded from this site, without anybody knowing.
Workaround to this restriction: Set up your download manager to send a HTTP referrer, and when you click on a link on the ATI site the download will then be authorized.
- Your browser did not send a referrer. This normally happens if you right click on a link and select save-as, or if you copy and paste a link into a new browser window and press Enter. It may also be that your browser is set up to not send any referrer. Left clicking on a link works just fine and has been tested in IE, FireFox, Netscape , Opera and Mozilla.
- Some software firewalls (such as Norton Personal Firewall or ZoneAlarm) remove the referrer from HTTP requests which will block any downloads on any site that does a referrer check. Hence such options should always be turned off. In Norton go to the Privacy Settings and disable browser privacy (which doesn't really protect your privacy anyway as your IP address will always be logged regardless of that setting), in ZoneAlarm go to Privacy -> Cookie Control -> Custom and uncheck "remove private header information".
- If you use a mozilla based browser (Mozilla, Firefox or Netscape Navigator), referrer sending can also be deactivated (it is activated by default). To change that setting, browse to "about:config", then search for "network.http.sendRefererHeader". If the value is set to 1, referrer sending is enabled, if it is set to 0, it is disabled. To enable it, double click on it, then change the value.
We're sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

After installing this driver I get black bars on both sides of my screen of my widescreen notebook.
I probably have to uncheck the box "keep aspect ratio". But I can't find it!!!! Do you guys know where I can find this setting???

I've often had my monitor reset to default settings after installing new video drivers. When that happens, I only have to reset the vertical and horizontal settings.
Is that what you're seeing...or are the black bars really very wide?

Try this... https://support.ati.com/ics/support
then put this number 737-22378 in the search box on the top left then hit "GO", that should get you to the link of the hotfix article, then just click to get to the dl link

Guys, the Vram 256+ optimization has been on the drivers since ATI added it to them, I just never announce that cause ATI already said it in their changelog, I don't need to repeat stuff like other modders do.

BSOD on D600 and Mobility 9000
Looks like all the iterations of catalyst 6.7 are not working anymore on mobility 9000s...
Upon reboot following installation a blue screen of death appears when display intialisation starts, and no amount of rebooting and/or tweaking will make this go away. I've had to go back to the omega 6.5.
Does the hotfix work for this particular problem? It would still be a feat to install, as you'd have to boot to safe mode, apply patch, reboot, cross fingers (and other appendages ) etc...Or is this a completely different problem?
Thanks anyways for the best set of ATI drivers out there...

BTW, warning, that download is a FULL DRIVER SET, so is not recommended you install the Omega Drivers if your having the problems with your NF4 + x1000 series card. In my case I have that combination but have never experienced the problem mentioned by ATI there.
