Radeon 7000 and Catalyst Driver Problem

I have an ancient Radeon 7000 VE. I try to install new drivers when they are released. The problem is that no driver after version 4.4 allows me to play videos.

Versions 4.5 and above cause my computer to grind to a halt when playing a video I usually have to restart the system.

What exactly is the problem? The release notes for version 6.5 says that the 7000 seriers is still supported so why doesn't it work right.

Just because it says its supported doesnt mean it will be driver bug free. Report the issue to ATI. If you dont then they wont bother fixing it.
