Video mode problem over S-vid
Hi there. I'm using the Omega 3.8.252(6.5, the latest). I switched back to the Omega's because I was having an issue with the catalysts, basicly they wouldn't allow me to open or change settings(did try to fix the problem, none of the simple solutions and some of the complicated solutions, all did nothing).
So anyway, I have my 28" sony CRT connected to my 9600Pro's S-video out. Back on the Cat's, I had some form of video mode enabled, and simply what happened was if there was a video window on my main screen, the video itself was maximised to the other screen. Not the player, or any other junk, just the outputted video itself. However, with the new drivers, this doesn't happen. I've gone into the settings, then into "displays", and the second screen which is described as a TV is enabled(green tab) and its in extended desktop mode. However, when I go into its properties, regardless of whether I've got "Video mode" ticked or not, I don't get a fullscreen video output onto my TV. I'm sorry if this has been covered before, but I did some googling and some searching and reading here, and couldn't find the specific issue. I've also spent some time playing around with the Control Panel and Tray tools, but I couldn't find anything to solve it. Regardless of all the things I've tried, it just stays as a second monitor. One last thing I should mention, is that I have Ultramon, although I've tried de-activating it and it didn't seem to make any difference, so I'm not sure if that's important. I apreciate any advice or solutions on this, thanks in advance

My CCC wouldn't open I tracked the issue down to my firewall...Zone alarm..
What do you mean by not fullscreen? See TV's are a bit different than monitors. What you may need to do is turn on OVERSCAN..this will get rid of the black bars at the top and bottom of the screen. Maybe this is your issue? |

Hi there, I went through all the simple solutions for CCC, services, firewalls, registry stuff, some MS hotfixes and files that required deletion for some people. I don't think anything short of a format will sort it out.
Sorry I didn't explain the issue better. Basicly, it used to be that if I dumped a video into Mplayer on my main screen(my monitor) then as well as playing within Mplayer, within the confines of that box. The video would also appear on my TV, without the Mplayer box around it, just a video. It had black boxes around it, but I understand the reason for that and its not the current issue. Basicly, playing a video in a media player used to be like sticking a video in a VCR or something like that, the screen would flicker as something changed modes, and then I'd just get fullscreen video. Now, I get no fullscreen video. The only way to watch anything on my TV is by moving the Mplayer program over onto the TV's desktop space, which obviously just doesn't really work well due to minimum resolutions and suchlike. I hope just to get back to a stage where I can drop a video into Mplayer(or any other media player) and it'll instantly play in fullscreen on my TV. None of the hardware has changed, just the drivers. So I'm hoping someone can tell me what to do, thanks for the reply

Change the overlay settings in the video section of the CCC in advanced mode.

I'm sorry, perhaps I wasn't very clear, but I don't have the CCC, I'm just using the Omega's without it. Will I need it to proceed?

You need to look for a part of the driver called OVERLAY MODE.. See in the CCC you could set the OVERLAY MODE, so a video would appear on another monitor/TV in a window or fullscreen. This is definatley your issue..well it's not a issue just a setting thing. You need to go into your settings and find it..Omega's should have a overlay settings pane..good luck..

Bingo! Thanks Rob and Spyre
![]() If anyone else stumbles across this thread with the same issue ever, right click on the Omega Icon near the clock, then go up to "Display", then hit "Settings". In there, goto the "Theater Mode" and in the "In Extended Display" box hit "Theater(Full Screen Video)" button, not the "Standard" one. I don't know how I missed that, I thought I'd expored the drivers pretty fully, it seems an odd location, but there are many choices. Sorted anyway, thanks very much guys
