Xp2000 is on a distinguished road

Anyone heard

Anyone here heard when the next set of drivers might be released. It has been what seems like forever ago since the last release.

Didn't ATI just release a set last month? I can hardly keep up with ATI's releases!

This is Omegadrive's offical response:

But what I know that will be fixed in the next revision is (don't know if it will be 55a or newer, depends on the leaks):
1- Support for "RADEON IGP 340M"
2- Support for "RADEON 9100"
3- Support for "RADEON 9500 PRO"
4- Keep the current OpenGL DLL (instead of the Cat3a) since the Alpha Blending bugs still there (test it with Wizardry 8).

I'll keep you informed when the next revision is due...

I took a leak just a few minutes ago. I didn't really want to but I had to......OH! that's not what you were talking about.

I just hope that the next Catalyst release fixes some of the flickering and incorrect graphic problems I was having with the 3.0's (both sets). Since I have DX9 installed, I'd really like a good solid DX9 Catalyst driver to go with it. Leaks or otherwise.

with the proficiency ATI are releasing sets, there are no need for leaks anymore, poor unfinished drivers damage the companies reputation, if you think about that, you will understand my point.

Im working with ATI now, and sets wont be leaked here, as I said in my last post ATI will release them offically very soon. there will be an announcement on Driverheaven as soon as they are released. hang in there guys, they are very good indeed, exceptionally smooth.

I have been a member of your site just about since this place started.
I know your reputation and what you say I believe. If you say soon then I believe soon.
Just one thing. Would you please test these things with Unreal Tournament 2003 and see if the frame rate loss is still there. Would you see if the stutters are still there? If you dont have the game then get
the drivers into someone hands that does have it. This is the game I need fixed and I want to kn0w!!

I appreciate you saying that. The 6292 drivers have resolved alot of issues, ive seen MrB posting the information over at Rage3d in some detail and they are without a doubt the best driver set from ATI ive used. they arent perfect and there are still a few problems with some games, but they are getting better all the time.

Thank God for imperfect drivers. After all, if there wouldn't have been problems with ATI drivers we wouldn't have DH .

no suprise there, if any1 would - ATi would take them all the way to court and lock them up in jail for life (if they could) - yep - ATi leaks are gone!

Well as difficult as it is to keep up with the new driver leaks I'm glad ATI makes the effort. Of course it would be really nice if they could release a well tested version in the 1st place we wouldn't need the constant updates. Cats 2.4 and 2.5 blew goats as far as I'm concerned.

I think this is better than NVIDIA's situation (leaks much more frequent than offical relases - it is too hard to tell which is the best) - ATI fixes issues very fast, so it is generally best to use the lastest version. And it has detailed changelog (release notes) on every release. Catalyst rules!

Just my .02

every 4 to 8 weeks is fair for driver updates especially if the quality and speed of the next set is an improvement over the previous, and if one no less than Zardon can say this:

The only reason I haven't sold my Audigy is that I can use kX driver with it - and get updates at least every two months (contact developers, report bugs, get them fixed etc.).
Other soundcards may be superior in hardware term, but 10k1 and 10k2 cards have best drivers (kX - which other driver has free routing, sums, peaks and so many effects builtin?)?
