Clone Screen Problem

Hi

I have a X800GTO2 with the latest omega drivers

I connected it to the tv with a S-VIDEO cable and i want them both to show the same screen at the same time (clone mode)

Problem is with omega is that it doesnt work at all, not even at single screen mode

If i use the ATI tray tools that came with omega i can swap the screen but not clone, I go the settings and when ever i activate one screen it deactivates the other

I have tried CCC and Ati control panel with similar results
i'm at the end of my wits and im wondering why is this happening?

Greetings! And welcome to Driverheaven!

I've been a fan of Omegadrivers for years. I've had no trouble activating TV Out on my system. However, to do so, I have to go to Display Properties/Settings/Advanced/Displays and Turn On the TV Display:

If the cables are all connected properly, it should work. I've never had an issue like this.

If it were mine, I'd check it out, if possible, on another system to see if the card works properly. If not, it should be returned as a faulty card.

Greetings! And Welcome to Driverheaven!

I think we need to ask you to supply the additional computer specifications for your system.

As I've said, I've had no trouble like you both have described. However, maybe together we can come up with a solution.

Well by now i have switched back to ati driver 6.4 with CCC
The same problem occurs, i can swap screens but not clone

the fact that i can swap means all the connections are fine

as for faulty card, i can see on both screens just fine only not at the same time
i dont think its faulty

what other information can i give in order to help you help me?

What size PSU do you guys have in your systems? More importantly, what is the AMP rating on the 12 V Rails?

In the image I posted above, are the blue 'buttons' active for you? Can you click on those to change settings? Do they presently look like the one in my image?

I've been able to use this feature quite well over the years and do so frequently enough to capture video from my game rig onto my second rig. So, it does puzzle me as to why it's not working for you guys.

I have a 500W PSU dont know what you mean by amp on the 12v rails

as for the blue buttons
when i had control panel and omega they were there
they were just unclickable

On your PSU is a label....or should be. On there is listed the details for various voltages and amp ratings. On my 550 W PSU I have 28A listed on the 12V column. Many of the PSUs that come with 'off the shelf' computers are just too cheaply made and may have Amps of less than 16. That's really not enough for today's power-demanding video cards.

So, if you had this working with a previous, not so demanding video card, this may be the source of the trouble.

Well i have 17Amps at the 12V column
and its a 450W not 500W (my bad)
But i wonder how lack of power can affect my problem

the screens are powered by a diffrent source and not the vid card
and i used my card for high end games while overclocked and never had a problem

It's just a thought, but, the signal to each of your screens comes from the video card. If there's not enough power to supply the signal to both, then, possibly, it's default to a single signal to just one or the other.

Does your video card have a separate power connection like my X800 XL? If so, do you have it plugged directly from the PSU...not from a Y-splitter that plugs into another device, too?

Yeah it does have a seperate connection
and it does have a y-split

I dont think its a power problem
I've ran high end games at maximum quality while overclocked without a problem
i think that would be more power consuming than a signal to two screens
but then again i cant say i know for sure

i have a brand new power supply in my computer, this one i have http://www.qtec.info/products/product.htm?artnr=13981 so there might not be a power problem. and the gfx card is connected directly to the psu and not with an y-spliter. really strange we can't get it to work properly.
