Omega Installation

Hello,

Please could anyone advise me as to the installation process for Omega drivers on a fresh install of windows XP. I have tried a few times now but after install I get the New Hardware found sign in the task bar.I think this is for the WDM drivers on my x850pro agp , if I look in the device manager I have 2 of the ! marks under other devices.
Should I install ati cat drivers first then uninstall, or is there something I have overlooked.
I have searched forums but could not see anything regarding a reformat.

Sorry if this subject has been touched before

Greetings! And welcome to DriverHeaven!

I would advise that you go ahead and install the official ATi Catalyst 6.3 drivers first....only omit installing the CCC.

Then, upon rebooting the system as prompted, install the Omegadrivers as he instructs. Be sure to OVERWRITE any drivers you may be prompted for.

Good luck!

Dyre Straits, actually there is a better solution, which doesen't need official ATI Drivers:

1. Go to www.omegadrivers.net and download Omega drivers 3.8.231 (6.3) and the corresponding WDM drivers found a bit lower on the same site.
2. Install the downloaded WDM 6.3 drivers and DO NOT RESTART your computer when prompted.
3. Install the downloaded Omega drivers and restart the computer.

Do not use the WDM 6.4 drivers from ATI site because the Unknown device will still pop up.

Regards, Partizan

Glad to help. I had the same problem, because 6.4 WDM drivers wouldn't work with Omega 6.3. Needed 2 days and lost some nerves until I tried and used the 6.3 WDM drivers
