VectorMan is on a distinguished road

1st Time zer0pointer

I decided to install and try out the DH zer0point drivers yesterday and I just had a couple of questions as to how they work since I can't find any kind of guide, and before you say it, I used the search about 6 times before I came here and found about one thing with 2 posts. So, if anyone could point me in the right direction that be great, but since I'm here I might as well just ask.

I take it the driver optimizations are automatic, but is the package just the zer0point drivers and the CCC? I don't mean this in a bad way, the drivers are greeat and there's nothing wrong with the CCC, but feel like something is missing and since i can't really find what the entire driver dooes, so I'm just worried I missed something. Also, (I switched over from the omegadrivers after 2 years btw), I'm wonderin if i could install ATi TrayTools instead of the CCC since i want to overclock my card some, and as far as I can tell the only oc i have is the Overdrive (I have a Ati 9600xt). I really just want to see if there's any improvement over the Omegas, which it kind of looks like, but i can't really tell since i have no OSD fps in Warcraft or CSS, which i know has fps things in the game but i always got a different number than the OSD. Also, i just bought a lcd monitor, and its great, but everything looks alot better so i can't really tell what's running better, so that's why i kinda need the fps. I guess my real problem is i feel more comfortable with the TrayTools since i've used them for so much longer and i just feel like i'm missing options or whatever since i'm guessin that the Omegas are more user controlled optimizations? maybe, i dunno.

Well there's my school work for the day, too much proper grammar and crap, but any help would and will be greatly appreciated, and please, have a nice day.

the tweaks and optimizations are all hard coded into the drivers...you're not "missing anything".

If you want to use traytools, feel free...but a workd of caution: any settings you change within tray tools aside from clock settings may have unpredictable effects, due to the other settings being altered from ATi's "norm".

It's not recommended that you install ATi Tray Tools on top of the DHzer0point drivers at this point in time. You can overclock fine with other utilities such as ATiTool or hell, even the Overdrive option in CCC. If you want an fps display, look up the program FRAPS. Otherwise, most games do have an fps display option.
