its possible that its a problem with the actuall design, but i have seen LCD's do this from a bad LCD. also could be a bad grfx BGA chip, it will need to be changed out, or get a new motherboard.

getting it serviced is the only way. - make sure to be very informative to the tech on how to replicate the problem, because if they dont find it, your SOL.
What way should I go about doing this? If I come to them with the HP set of drivers installed most likely they will tell me there is nothing wrong. If I go to them with the Omega Drivers installed they are going to tell me that it is third party drivers that are incompatible and should uninstall them and use the HP release set.

As stated before I have no issues with the HP drivers in any way. I also can start the notebook in safe mode with the Omega set.

I guess there is no way around it apparently, I guess we are doomed to wait for HP releases (for the best compatibility and stability).

With the HP set I have played everything from Doom 3 to Age of Empires 3, from Unreal 2004 to F.E.A.R, from World of Warcraft to Area 51. All on nearly the highest settings.

I could stick with the HP set but I was just looking for a third party set that may be more up to date and offer more performance and quality.

Thanks.
You have:

X1900XT CrossFire Edition
X1900XTX

I thought ATi CrossFire (at least untill ATi Catalyst 6.3) requires 2 identical cards!
Doesn't it?!

Like this:

X1900XT CrossFire Edition
X1900XT

No, ATi doesn't require two identical cards. NVidia does.

Aha!
Thanx for the heads'up!

But when you have:

X1900XT CrossFire Edition
X1900XTX

Will the X1900XTX still run with it's original core/memory speeds or will it be clocked down to a X1900XT CrossFire Edition's core/memory speeds?!

Anyone who can help me? I uninstalled my previous driver using cat-uninstaller and installed this new omega driver. Everything worked well and my Star Wars Knights of the old republic (the reason I installed new driver) worked. After playing for a while I quit the game and turned off my computer. Now when I turn it on again the game does not work (I get an error message telling my I can report it to microsoft) and the hole computer runs much slower. Got any ideas what might be the problem/ how I can fix it?

Hi all...

I got some really weird problems with my graphic card...

I got a Acer Aspire 5021Wlmi laptop...

I used to have it connected to my Sony LCD 32" with a D-SUB/VGA cable as my external monitor. The highest resolution the LCD can take is 1280x768... And It worked perfectly....

UNTIL....

I formated the harddrive and reinstalld XP Home...

* With ATIs original drivers I could only get picture on the tv if i chosed resolution 1024x768. The closest I could get to 1280x768 was 1280x800, but with no picture.

* With DH Omega driver (the latest) I thought the problem should me solved when I saw that I could chose 1280x768 res at the secondary monitor setting.
BUT!
There is no picture. The monitor says: "Wrong signal frequens".
Still the monitor only accepts 1024x768 and 800x600.

I have tested with another Acer laptop, an TravelMate with a a lot cheeper Geforce graphiccard, and with that one it works perfectly!

So it can't be the tv thats the problem...

The strange thing is just that it worked fine before i formated and reinstalled XP....

Oneone know what to do???

Hi all,
can anyone help me?

I have a Radeon 9600XT card with latest Omega drivers installed.
The problem is that i can't absolutely enable HDR in Oblivion, even with no antialiasing activated (in ATI control panel, ATI Tray Tools, and Oblivion options).

It just say "HDR not supported".

Is that normal?

Yes, you need X800 (and the rest of the X-series) or X1-series videocard. You have a 9-series, wich doesnt support HDR.

I can't get the colour settings for desktop and fullscreen 3D to hold with this version.

Every time I start up a game I have to alt-tab, open up the control panel and just click once on either desktop or fullscreen 3D, after that I can alt-tab back to the game and it's all good. When I exit the game those settings are lost again.

Since my monitor is extremely dark most games are unplayable if I don't do this. This worked perfectly with the older omega drivers, it's just this version that it won't work with.

Running X850XT PE.

You need X1-series. X800 and x850 series are not HDR capable, at least not in Oblivion.

X*** series does not support HDR nor SM 3.0

X1*** series does support HDR and SM 3.0

9*** series does not support HDR nor SM 3.0

So, partizan is correct.

However, HL2 HDR is another matter (seen on DoD and Lost Coast)...

After a long time, I installed the omegadrivers (Radeon Omega Drivers 3.8.231 (Catalyst 6.3) again, but now, i can't choose a resolution of 1600x1024 for my SGI 1600SW monitor.
The biggest size is 1440x900.
With the original catalyst driver I haven't that. What do you suggest what I can do to use the driver correctly?

I was wondering, is it possible to mix just the theater mode from cat 5.2 into the newest drivers?
I say this because ever since cat 5.2, theater mode aspect ratio for s-video out has been messed up, and theater mode overscan is always ON in the newer drivers.

what about if i want to share the drivers on grouper. grouper is like p2p except it has groups and it makes file sharing friendly.

i've been having a problem recently with these drivers, i suspect it could have something to do with how it installed (maybe not fully). i'm using an ATI Radeon x700 pro AGP. my problem is that when i change my color depth from 32bit "highest" to 16bit "Medium" the icons on the desktop are weird. the ones for windows "my computer, network, IE, etc" all look horrible. so of the other icons are also as horrible looking. the IE icon looks like the big blue E of win95. changing it back to 32bit makes them look correct again.
when i open up the shortcut properties and try to change the icon, the icon that shows is correct, but it does not refresh on the desktop. i do not believe i had a problem with the previous version, so i will try to reinstall those when i am able to later today as well as using the utility to make sure it is fully uninstalled.
i have tried one method to see if it works which is deleting the iconcache file and rebuild icons in tweakui, neither have been successful. hopefully someone has had similar problems and/or knows a way to correct the problem.

it is not overclocked at all.

oh, and in case ppl ask "why are you changing color depth?"... it's cause damn RFO can't seem to clear from video properly (windows are sluggish when you drag them around on the desktop, scroll, or maximize/minimize after exitting game, resetting the color rate fixes it... very odd)

edit: here are pictures to show what i mean.
32bit color http://img340.imageshack.us/img340/7853/32bit5za.jpg
16bit color http://img55.imageshack.us/img55/4669/16bit9or.jpg

trying the zeropoint drivers atm, still same issue...could be video card itself?

Hey Guys!

I have a rather simple question 'bout Omegadrivers: Are they winXP pro x64 ready?

I'm thinking and thinking of changing my system to XP64 and I'm quite not sure if I should do it.

Currently I'm playing Oblivion and it doesn't seem to be 64bit optimized, so there's no need to reset my system but still... Why have I bought a 64bit-CPU and then not use it?

Folks, this needs to be made up - Help me, please

So long and thanks for all the fish,
Kringel.

I have a problem: I installed the Omega Drivers but everytme I try to load Americas Army I get this message: "Please enable Direct3D acceleration. You can do this by starting dxdiag and enabling Direct3D Acceleration in the Display1/2 after installing DirectX 8.1b and the latest drivers for your graphics card."

I have a Radeon 9250 SE and I need advice on how to fix this error.

I tried it and couldn't find what to do since it said that Direct3D was enabled. So I just uninstalled the Omegas and re-installed Catalyst. Thanks for the advice though.
