fatwrites, omega, ati, and you...

I have an Asus A7N8X-E deluxe motherboard w/ an ATI 9800pro using the Omega 3.8.221 drivers. I now have fastwrites disabled in BIOS yet when I go to the SmartGART options in the control panel it still shows fastwrites as "on". I've tried ticking the box for them to be "off", but after rebooting (or just restesting) they are "on" again when I go back to the control panel options. Any idea why it does this (especially since they are not on in BIOS)?

P.S. - I did have fastwrites on when I initially installed the drivers, and chose the "on" option when presented during the installation.

Simply reinstall the drivers with the off option selected.

I would at least consider trying that, anyway.

It would appear that the CATs ALL have SmartGart enabled in the CCC by default ( I wish that it wasn't). My system is unstable with FastWrites enabled, so anytime that I update the drivers, I have to manually turn SmartGart OFF in the CCC.

Just one of those things, I guess.
