X800Pro / XT Omega 3.8.221 Probs

I recently bought a second hand ATi X800Pro PCI-E non-VIVO that has been modded to an XT and oc's nicely, to replace the dead / misbehaving 6800nu AGP (yes, that meant replacing the mobo. I decided that if I had to get a new card, I may as well finally make the switch to PCI-E). This meant reinstalling windows xp pro (and that was a lot of fun stoopid sata drivers mumble grumble). I figured, since I have an oc'ing card, I may as well use Omega Drivers (I wanted to use ATT anyway). My problem is simply that the Omega Drivers dont recognise my card (they tell me so themselves. Aren't they useful little things?) WinXP sees my card as an x800xt (I imagine the card has an xt bios - I'm not sure how the mod is done), and the official ATi drivers work fine. Has anybody else experienced problems like this? Any ideas?

Cheers,
prueg

PS I havent tried the DHZer0Point Drivers yet, and honestly hadn't heard of them before coming to this site. I may be asking a biased crowd this, but, are they any good? I mean, how do they compare to Omega and official drivers? I might give them a try and see how I go.

The DHzp drivers are very good. DHzer0point has been around for a while, too. Actually, DriverHeaven is their home site.
My X850XT performs beautifully with DHzp 6.2 and since your X800XT is only a step down, it should do the same for you. However, as the saying goes, "your mileage may vary". Just be sure to use DriverCleaner Pro and stuff in between driver installations.
Just remember, DHzp isn't here to compete with Omega, it's just here to provide users with more of a variety of drivers to chose from.

OK, I've managed to install the Omega drivers manually through device settings -> update driver. I had problems with Catalyst earlier, but found out that was due to not having .NET Framework 1.1 installed. Got rid of that, got omega running fine, so all is well. I also had no probs installing DHzer0point, but that was last windows install.
