could be caused by an incorrectly value setting in BIOS. go into the BIOS setup settings and change them to default settings or load the system BIOS's fail-safe defaults. try this first and see if it helps.
and btw, what's your motherboard make and model?

First up, welcome to the forums, PoWMan!

Question: are you having any windows pop up quick, then close, or are you getting any errors as it's shutting down? The problem sounds like it's related to Windows shutting down a program during the shutdown phase, or a program never actually unloaded itself from memory when you closed it, and it is causing an error. This would force Windows to automatically restart the PC instead of shutting it down. Easy way to fix this is to turn off "Automatic Restart" which is under the following section: System Properties, Advanced tab, Starup and Recovery section, and uncheck Automatically Restart. What this will do is give you time to see what program is causing the crash/error. Most likely it's a CD writing program (usually Roxio EasyCD Creator is linked to this, and specifically ones that use virutal drives), and sometimes an anti-virus or spyware protection program.

Question for you: what programs are in your startup? One thing I would suggest is to remove/uncheck ones that you don't absolutely need right away, and reboot the machine. Next time shut down, and see if the same issue occurs. Also, try closing programs that are on your taskbar, and then shutdown.

Thumbs Up!

Thanks for the warm welcome Tipstaff

I was reading your post and came along the part about cd writing programs and virtual driver. I do have Alcohol 120% on my pc, but i havent had any problems with it before i formatted my pc.

I just remember that i forgot to use windows update after i formatted my pc, because of the new authentication system that microsoft implented into there site. I will do this and report back if it helped
