I have Far Cry 64, BF2. Company of heros, Flight Simulator X Deluxe all on a now beta version of X64 with SP2 (Build 3790). I have been using X64 for a year I'd guess and it is the One!

Just curious if any one has tried the RC for SP2 yet?

I seen on one site they said you have to install SP1 even if it came on your copy of XP x64. Is this true?

I had to uninstall the beta and re-install the RC, but I did follow the instructions, I was using a newer build of X64 (Build 3790) and the RC is version 2825. my beta was 2805.

I do have a OEM copy of XP X64, but I have been doing beta testing hence the current setup. I like it and believe it is now a mainstream OS, I have no driver issues at all. I have a HP printer ATI video card, Audigy 2 Value sound card, Uli Chip-set and no driver issues at all.

I don't think you have to worry as long as SP1 is installed at some point, but I did not pay as close attention as I could have. I see if I can't find those instructions

Microsoft is currently developing Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 2 (WS03 SP2). WS03 SP2 will be a conventional service pack consisting of all security updates; all individual hotfixes released to customers; and fixes to reduce top customer support issues as well as increase reliability, robustness, and security.

Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 2 will update the following versions:

32-bit x86:

• Windows Server 2003, Web Editions (32-bit x86)
• Windows Server 2003 R2, Standard Editions (32-bit x86)
• Windows Server 2003 R2, Enterprise Editions (32-bit x86)
• Windows Server 2003 R2, Datacenter Editions (32-bit x86)

x64:

• Windows Server 2003 R2, Standard x64 Edition
• Windows Server 2003 R2, Enterprise x64 Edition
• Windows Server 2003 R2, Datacenter x64 Edition

Release Candidate for Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 2 is released!
Windows Serviceability is pleased to announce the release of the Release Candidate (build 2825) of Service Pack 2 for Windows Server 2003 and Windows XP Professional x64 Edition.
This build contains:

• Roll up of hotfixes released to date
• Roll up of security updates released to date
• Fixes for bugs reported by Beta customers and other known issues on previous Service Pack 2 builds

This build should be used for full deployment purposes, including pre-production testing or general compatibility testing. In order to have a stable test environment we strongly recommend un-installation of any previous SP2 builds from your machines before installing build 2825.
If you previously installed an integrated build of SP2, you cannot upgrade your system to build 2825 with this refresh; you will need to re-install a released version (RTM, SP1, or R2) of Windows Server 2003 before upgrading to build 2825. With SP2, Windows Server 2003 x64 Editions will start supporting 9 new languages: Chinese Simplified, Chinese Traditional, French, German, Italian, Korean, Portuguese (Brazilian). Russian, and Spanish. With RC, Windows Server 2003 x64 Edition is available in German for the first time.
Additionally, with RC, a MUI servicing package is available, which is specific to 3 components (Microsoft Management Console (MMC) 3.0, Windows Deployment Services and Microsoft File Server Management). This is not a re-release of the Windows Server 2003 MUI Pack. This MUI servicing pack is designed to increase the compatibility between MUI and localized languages for these 3 components. It would appear from the instructions any release with SP1 will do.

Windows XP Pro X64 only is available with SP1, it was released after SP1 for Windows Server 2003.

Installed, and running well. I'm not seeing that much difference though.

What I saw was a stretching of the envelope, it seems to be more friendly toward other applications and hardware, more like 32 bit in that respect, but it still seems snappier and happier to me.

I am still running one computer with XP64. A real sweet OS I think, I have three with Vista 64 and one Ubuntu 64
