is there anyway to run older software on XP?

ive tried emulation millions of times. ive been wanting to try an old game out (Sonic CD) because im a little bored. it works on 95/98/NT/ME but not XP. anyways i can forcefully run it?

Have you tried right clicking on the program and choosing to run it in WIN 98 compatability mode? I had to do that with Emperor of Dune a while back and it worked fine.

i just mentioned i did. thats the emulation. it doesnt work

Been a long while, so we'll see if I remember this.

Couple things you need to set:

1) run the game in Win95 compatibility mode

2) disable themes

3) set the desktop to 640x480x256 colors

Think I might install it again just to make sure.

try searching google for a program called "abandon loader"

it works wonders for old DOS games

don't need a dos loader, this is not a dos game....

and no the trick doesnt work tipstaff. windows xp lies by saying it can fully emulate the old registries!
