To Fix this, and I assure you that nothing you can do but this next step will fix this problem, is to go to the following directory on your hard drive C:\Program Files\Common Files\ Here you will see a bunch of directories. You want to rename the one called Installshield to something like Install-Temp . Close the window and try to install the game again. This should work perfectly. After the game in installed, go back to C:\Program Files\Common Files\ and go into the directory that you named Install-Temp. Copy all the files and folders from that Directory to the new directory that is located at C:\Program Files\Common Files\InstallShield\ BUT DO NOT ALLOW ANY OF THE FILES YOU ARE NOW PUTTING INTO THE INSTALLSHIELD DIRECTORY TO OVERWRITE ONES THAT ARE ALREADY THERE. I believe the only duplicate will be the professional directory. Do not overwrite this file folder! After the above is done, you can either leave the Install-Temp directory there or delete it. I would leave it in case something went wrong but this is a proven fix for this (and other) games with this error.
The error originated on your hard drive from a past install of a piece of software that used the install shield laucher. You might have crashed and went blue screen some time ago or had the power go out on you. In either case, that's why it's happening.
As of this writing, I don't see anyone at installshield giving any indication of a fix for this problem. This is probably why you are reading this and not browsing through their FAQ's.
That's it, good luck and good gaming everyone.....Galaxy
