Memory Problems...
After taking my PC down to Dallas for CPL earlier this month via the plane, I came home to new found problems with my computer. I use 2 GEIL 512MB PC3200 Dual Channel but when I tried to check my email using Outlook it would bring up the blue screen of death with the physical memory dump. This happened many times as well as my computer just locking up. I removed 1 of the sticks and changed the slots, my computer now runs without a problem, just slower without the boost of memory.
I recently tried using dual channel again, the same problem happened only this time the stick that worked now doesn't work and the stick that didn't work, now works. I was just wondering if anyone could offer some advice as to what the problem could be. Is it the motherboard causing the problem? Any help is appreciated.

i just don't know. but i'd try to de-install and then re-install every hardware parts inside the computer case ( includes removing the motherboard battery from it's socket load default BIOS settings and then re-set it after you've done the hardware reinstalling. also, clean inside the case and all parts ) if you don't know or never do it, don't do it since this can lead to other hardware problems if it's not done properly.

Create a boot CD with memtest86+ (freeware) found here:
http://www.memtest.org/
Install one memory module and boot your PC with this CD to check if the module is faulty. Then do the same with the other memory module.
This will show you if there's anything wrong with your memory. Sometimes Windows might not use the bad portion of the memory chip, therefore not producing any blue screen of death
It'll be also helpful if you included the error code that you get when the blue screen of death occurs (the "stop error"). These errors are like this:
0x00000XXX ERROR_DESCRIPTION_HERE
e.g.:
0x0000000A: IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
Look up the error you get in these sites to look for a possible solution, because it might not be the memory that's faulty:

Ok, I just ran memtest a few hours ago. I let it cycle through 3 passes with no errors found. A few hours later my system crashed and dumped the physical memory. Information from the event log is as follows:
Error code 0000000a, parameter1 000001bb, parameter2 00000002, parameter3 00000000, parameter4 804dc80d.

I'm not sure how to find out more information about this, perhaps I could be advised.

I'm actually going to run a few virus scans... I was recently at CPL down in Dallas with 2000 other computers, could explain why my memory modules are fine.

Judging by the error code, you got a 0x0a error (although that's a weird error message - usually you get the error explanation as well). Have a look here:

Hmm.... tested both memory sticks in dual channel mode with no errors found. They are both still in as I type this and working properly for the time being. Looking into that error list now.
Also, for the trip down to Dallas, I removed my video card and sound card and checked the rest of my case. I then put them back in when I arrived. Perhaps I'll just try reinstalling the hardware and see where I get from there.

Well, since I had removed my video card for the trip, I decided to completely reinstall the drivers just in case, although it was working without the drivers being reinstalled, I figured it couldn't hurt. Everything seems to be working properly now with no problems. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

you did not mention about removing the cards, but reinstall the driver have helps you that's good news.
the important thing is it's working now. and hope that will stay and the problem is end.
what i had on your first post was about taking your computer with you on the trip, and then you got that problems with RAM stop working from one to another like that after. according to that and my past experiences on taking computer sets with me to/from oversea, so i just go with the re-installing all the hardwares.

Yeah, my fault on not supplying the entire background of the problem early on.
