Taskbar is covering up the Window's clock popup?
I've searched the net for an answer to this but to no avail...
On the taskbar, when you generally hover over an icon, for example the clock, a pop up appears with the date. However, for some reason, this pop up is appearing BEHIND the taskbar, making it impossible to read - likewise for all other icons.
The taskbar is the main focus, yet this still happens - it is very annoying. Anyone know how I can fix this?

I can only say that it seems quite common and I would guess that the taskbar simply has to get improved by Microsoft to make it go away. Clicking the taskbar an extra time helps sometimes, but not always.

the InfoTips appearing behind the taskbar is a 'known Windows bug' for years and it's not just happening in Windows XP.
if it only happens occasionally try turning the option you see in this below pic on/off (or off and then on) may help. if not, try restarting the Explorer shell first. if this does not correct the problem then logoff and log back on or reboot your PC and see.
if it does that all the time you may want to try turning off ALL of the BalloonTips, BalloonTip, InfoTips, InfoTip, ToolTips and Tips in the registry and turn the options back on after rebooted. this might help.

Keeping the taskbar on top of other windows is exactly what it is doing.
Try upgrading to your latest service pack
WinXP > sp2
Win2k >sp4 (update rollup package 1?)
Win98se > Unofficial sp2

I solved that problem by making my taskbar bigger.. I did this by using my quick launch and bringing it down so that it shows my date, time, etc. That's the most simplest workaround that I've found.. I know some people have small monitors, mine is a 21" so I can afford the space.. but it works and thats all I care about.
Good Luck with it.

good advice there, that may also help. at least for the Windows session.
resize or increase the height of the taskbar from one-row to a double row or more, and then put it back to the default one-row. and see...
