xp pro x64

Im thinking of updating my OS to x64 and wondered if anyone else is currently using it and has found all there drivers and appz workin or had any problems. Also is there a sugnificant change in how fast it is in games etc?

I use classic theme so themes and stuff dont bother me, I do use avedesk but apparently this works also.

I currently install:
ATi drivers (think there are proper drivers now)
Realtek onboard audio drivers (think there are proper drivers now)
nforce4 (think there are proper drivers now)
kerio firewall 2 (?)
epson printer software (r200) (?)

battlefield 2
gta san andreas
steam (heard some people had problems)

visual studio.net (its ms so should?)
visual studio 6 (its ms so should?)

anyone had any problems with these?

Obviously all your drivers need to be 64 bit versions, cause the 32 versions will not work on win64.
Antivirus progs wont work so u haave to buy 64 bit versions, i think Norton Enterprise and nod64 are two that i know are out.
Games should work fine, but i reckon u would have to do a reinstall of them since win64 creates a new system folder and i am not sure if it stil recognises the winxp32 settings

Performance is roughly the same i have read, although i imagine for programs that run in 64bit mode, they would work quicker.

Apparently internet explorer isnt working so well for the 64bit os (correct me if i am wrong), but firefox works very nicely.

These are some things i have read, am still hesitant about switching to the 64bit version

System Specs

There are some sites that have problems with 64bit IE (many plugins and other things aren't finished), but the "good-old" 32bit version also comes with the OS and works fine.

this may be a old topic but oh-well. Im on win64 now and after the install all my drivers where already there. There was no need to go download more drivers. Even my ati cards had drivers writen by MS. There are a few spots in software compatibility.. But all in all my benchmarks a double what they were and in some cases tripple.. Its worth the upgrade.
