Trojan found
I ran virus scan a few hours ago and it detected and deleted a trojan called 'Generic BackDoor.dr'. I have McAfee Virus Scan Enterprise 8.0.
Anyone know what kind of virus it is and what might have done to my system? I heard some bad things about Trojan variants so I am just curious. It was not found on the boot drive though. No idea how long it has been there and I haven't notice any abnormality recently.Any input is appreciated. Thanks

It could be a simple spyware dropper. If you are having trouble removing it try Spybot S&D or Ad-Aware to see if it removes it.

Essentially, a Trojan allows the hacker to execute/acess commads off your PC therefore it's knickname "back-door" seeing as it "allows" access to your PC. In 99% of the cases, you don't have to worry about it, especially if you have a good firewall running.
