Windows x64 XP Pro

Wanted to hear your current views on the newest public release beta build from MS.

Ive been testing it for a while, im finding it overall very good, after getting a custom built ATI driver for my X850 XT PE. Audigy 2 ZS beta drivers are good and apart from some issues with applications the OS is currently shaping up very well.

I really find it works well, as good or better than the 32bit version of XP

I cant find 64bit USB drivers for Motorola Surfboard Cable modem but thankfully it also has the ethernet connection option along with a USB connection

My Soltek board died the other day so I upgraded my pc to 64 bit and downloaded the 64 bit rc2 from MS and installed it last night.

I'm quite impressed with it so far, it's quite fast and I will keep on using it. My scanner won't work with it until HP pull finger and start releasing some drivers, WinRar works apart from the right click menu options are gone. The Soundblaster Audigy 64 bit drivers work ok as did the ATI Catalyst beta 4 drivers with my Gigabyte 9600 PRO. Haven't tried my HP printer yet.

Sounds like you can have a pretty usable system. How does running games go? Any problems?

It's my second PC, so I haven't played too much games, but everything was flawless. Also I 3DMarked it quite a bit (with the 05 version), because I was interested in stability myself, and found no stability, image or performance problems, as it always gave me about 2490 3DMarks. (I've got a 9800Pro.)

you get faster transfer rates and better latency for things like gameing online...

USB wasn't really inmtended for that use.. eathernet how ever was always designed for it

anyone use XP64 for daily use? daily gaming? would i run into problems if i were to go with XP64 right now? does 64-bit NF4 UDP exist? thought i saw rumors of them floating around somewhere.

what kind of performance increases are people getting, specifically in games?

bottom line: **is it worth it to go with the latest XP64 beta right now over XP SP2**

nothing right now lack of 64bit apps and lack of "good driver" support the OS is better though
