Reinstall wmp 10 and try it with only the codecs that you need. See if that helps. Have you tried other programs to play the streaming media or just wmp?

looked at both those links, nothing describing my problem. Although some other people have posted the same issue on the news groups but there are no replays on their threads or the replay does not help the issue.
....anyways can i completly do a fresh reinstall of wmp10?

do u mean post something about the error? if so theres nothing i can post, it sometimes automaticly trys to stream a video on a site then the browser just crashes and closes, no error.
on some sites where u have to hit play to stream, ill get thet error message that i've listed above..

any site that auto plays streaming .wmv's - so mainly all myspace profiles.
heres a site that crashes me before it even fully loads: REMOVED LINK
also i never had system restore on, never use it unless im testing something.
EDIT BY mig-31: The link contains some inappropriate material for the DH forums.

Please remove that link emediately ..... it has some pornographic matterials on it (banner add for example)
Please find a more acceptable page...
(BTW... it loaded rather quickly and find for me.. however i did notice in IE that is said there were errors on the page and IE did stop responding for a split second while loading)

oh lol sorry, i posted that link because i remember that is where i and other people got the urls to post streaming videos on their sites, etc - i never remember there being pornographic material on there, i couldnt check if i wanted to because it crashes.
yea it probably took little longer because it had to load the big list and video...
....got anymore ideas on how to fix this problem...?

so you can't system restore to a previous time
erg... leaves very little left to do aside from trying to see if uninstalling various media players and other updates that may have been applied but i haven't a clue were to start in your position without just throwing what i need backed up onto a disc or to a seperate partition.. and formating and reinstalling...
Ctrl-Alt-Delete may (most) likely have a few tricks up his sleeve yet

i've no idea atm, but i'd like to see your media player plugins settings anyway,
pls locate a file name 'pluginreg.dat' in your Firefox profile folder and open it with your text editor, then highlight the following lines and copy/paste on your post here.
Code:
Windows Media Player Plug-in Dynamic Link Library|$
5
0|xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx|*|$
1|xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx|*|$
2|xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx|*|$
3|xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx|*|$
4|xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx|*|$
C:\Program Files\Windows Media Player\npdrmv2.dll|$

that looks about right to me. i really don't know what to do with this problem.
i think you have problem with site configured with MIME embed type="application/x-mplayer2", try the test object on this page http://cita.rehab.uiuc.edu/mediaplayer/africa.htm and see if you'll get the same error message ?
