MSN Messenger 6.0/7.0 Issue
when i sign into either MSN 6 or 7, the program instantly locks up - menu bar turns white and "(Not Responding)" appears after "MSN Messenger"
Windows Messenger 4.7 works fine however

basic advice
standard microsoft troubleshooting procedures:
1. Make sure MSM 4.7 isn't starting automatically during boot-up. If its active, disable. If its setup to automatically start, disable that function.
2. Start MSM 6.0 or 7.0 with a clean system boot, no MSM 4.7 in memory. If you still have the same behaviour, uninstall and reinstall.
99% of the time those two procedures will fix your MSM problem. I doubt its a router/config issue since the program appears to 'hang'.

Microsoft Windows XP System Restore
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/de...temrestore.asp
see the section "What's Restored and What's Not"
try uninstall/reinstall as mentioned above..
after the uninstall is done, go to \Docs and Settings\<your windows login name>\Application Data\Microsoft\MSN Messenger, if there's anything in there, backup first then remove everything.
also check at \Program Files\MSN Messenger, backup and remove it and reinstall. and see.
