Office 2000 Pro install problems

two systems, one program to install.

first system is Windows XP Pro.
second system is Windows XP Media Center

install on Windows XP Pro went flawless.
install on Windows XP Media Center has errors.

the errors so far have all been related to the .ocx files; vsflex3.ocx, mscomctl.ocx, and the error message says that the install can not find or can not access these files.

when we look at the system32 folder on the Media Center system, we find the vsflex3 and mscomctl files but they have zero data, they are blank files.

in the Windows XP Pro system32 folder we find the same files, they are complete, with large data.

the question: are these files installed during the installation of Office 2000 Pro, or are these files suppose to be on the system to start with, like being installed during the installation of the OS?

the reason i ask this is because when doing a search on the Office CD we can not find these particular files.

as each error comes up we have copied the file off of the Windows XP Pro system and copied them to the Windows XP Media Center system, but we are on hold right now, not knowing how many more of these files the installation is going to have trouble finding.

thanxz

How to remove the Office CD1 from a computer that is running Windows 2000
see-> 5. Using Windows Explorer, delete the files in the following folders.
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/q252566/

that should tell you that those files are from the office setups..

i think you can also try searching the i386 of the XP CD, enter the file name with no file extension..

try copying the CD contains to HDD and run the setup.
or keep providing the missing files for the office setup from the other XP... not sure but i'd say it'll work.
