Windows Anti spyware application

I tried the beta today, seems pretty decent, anyone thoroughly investigated this?

I've had it running for about a week now, although it say its a beta its actually a spyware engine based on Giant Antispyware. Not as well known as Adaware but meant to be fairly decent.

Here a link to an article on the microsoft acquisition

Yeah, its giant allright still, a decent program

But...
this is real nice for newbie's and lazy ones

http://www.hitmanpro.nl/ did a translation here from dutch; so blame babelfish!!

but it is simplicity it self; download & run, when no Virus checker on board
then also check the macafee stinger.
If you wan't it to run and go elsewhere like bed just check the "Computer uitschakelen ...." (2nd in the options tab)
no more need to mess around and find updates it all does it automaticly
it's like dreams come true
part of the page translated with Babelfish:
full Automatic run of external software:

Ad-Aware SE 6.2 (versie 1.05)
CSWshredder
Webroot SpySweeper 3 (1
Spybot Search & Destroy 1.3
SpywareBlaster 3.2
McAfee Stinger (if no virus checker is on the computer(or disabled))

.The freeware versions of external software have been stored in one installer, with (at release) the newest updates, so that a contaminated machine standalone can be cleaned.
.Download automatically the newest updates, also already external software supports this .checking the correct institutions even if external software does not
.generates one single report so that the user gets a complete overview of how much and which spyware was on the computer.
1) Hitman pro installs a test version of Spy Sweeper which 30 days functionality if no Spy Sweeper with subscription has been found.

Been running it for a few days and it seems nice; its not a resource hog like some might expect and it works very well for beta ms software. But ever since I have started using Opera I have no need for spyware appz. I haven't found single trace of spyware with any app for weeks now.

Had it onboard for about a week now, I like the way it warns about new entries into the startup folder and gives you an option to veto them.

Seems pretty solid and also pretty much install and go, it seems to have all the bases covered by default.

I just wonder what the cost will be when it's finalised....

It's the best anti-spyware program I've ever tried.

funny thing is, I installed it, and I have adware SE, spywareblaster and spybot S&D and this app found 9 other pieces of spyware! havent used it long enough to see how good it is but if its based on/is giant then its bound to be good. certainly good for a freebie.

I have two of the apps you mentioned as well, and AntiSpyware found stuff the others didn't. Quite impressive.

I've been using it for a week or so now with no problems. The real time protection is great too, uses little resources and detects most threats before I can be infected.

MS didn't create this software, so Giant should get the credit.

I've used adaware, spybot, spywareblaster, pestpatrol, spysweeper, adwareaway, etc. I would put the MS software up with pestpatrol. Active protection is similar to spysweeper.

I've just tried it and this tool found 5 stuff than Adaware didn't detect. That was great .

I only need to use it for a few days and see how works its autoprotect feature.

A very nice interface and so on. Probably works well too although I haven't tried it for too long. But it annoys me that an anti-spyware program is hardheaded about running a process all the time, when one of the foundations for running such software is to get less of that. Most spyware aren't really that dangerous so the main issue with those is that they run in the back all the time, just like this anti-spyware insists on doing without asking.

Not bad, nice interface too

It catched my installed version of Flashget as "adware" (well the shareware version pops up ads but I've got it registered)

Other than that it seems very good indeed, although I'll still use Spybot, Adware and Spywareblaster for added protection
