??? contol panel, audio settings help

in audio settings under control panel my speaker setting has always been quad. this was never an issue before because i had 4 speaker suuround set in a2 settings.
now it is a problem because doom3 uses window settings to determine your audio setup. hence it only 'sees' my sys as hving a 2 speaker setup. now i can change it to 4 surround but every time i resart the computer it switches back to quad(also did this with all my custom sound settings). this is really annoying.
any help on how to make the setting to '4 surround' permanent would be appreciated. thx

I'm not really sure what you're talkin about but I hope this link helps you. It let me play Doom 3 in surround sound with my 4.1 setup.....
