Locking Screen win xp
I have come accross a weird issue on two computers running different OS's. Both systemas are AMD and 1 gig of ram.
Anyway the problem i get after i open 4 or so windows and do something else. The scree will not open any more windows nor can i double clik anything on the desktop, even if i press the start button it only shows half the menu. its like there is sheild on the desktop and wont let me do anything. Its hard ot explain but i am hoping someone had this issue and can give me a idea what to ddo to fix it. Thanks Slav |

hrmmm....make sure all the autoshutdown features are disabled(hard disk spin down, etc) and that you're not putting it into sleep mode(this can cause many issues...just turn the monitor off and leave it be), and make sure you have the newest video card drivers and that your videocard can handle your screen saver(some are actually quite demadning)

No prob..
here're some suggestions for begin with... 1) make sure your AV software has the latest definitions and run a virus scan throughout the system. 2) after your system is clear of viruse try removing your AV software, do this test offline. 3) check for the latest drivers for your hardware, especially your graphics card and all peripherals connected to your system.. go to the device manufacturer's web sites.. and get the updated files from there. have you removed and reinstalled your graphic card driver yet? if you've not try that. 4) use none or lower the Hardware Acceleration.. Display -> Settings -> Advanced -> Troubleshoot -> Hardware Acceleration. 5) check the refresh rate of the monitor.. and try lowing color quality. 6) try running the DirectX Tool... Run -> dxdiag, check for any error. 7) set your pagefile to the default settings. 8) you may be experiencing a incompatibility problem with your mouse with Win XP... try using a simple PS/2 mouse which does not need an additional drivers... |
